Getting Down to Business by Allison B. Hanson: Alyssa wants nothing to do with love – not when she was so blinded by it in the past. It nearly ruined her before, and now she’s lost her desire to trust. But Grayson is here to change that.

After a one night stand with Alyssa, finding out they work at the same company, and a subsequent roommate situation when she moves in after being kicked out of her place and he needs a new one, Grayson knows she’s the woman he wants. He just has to make her realize that – especially as their relationship deepens.

While Alyssa will enjoy a casual relationship with Grayson, she won’t do more. At least, until she sees Grayson may be moving on….

My favorite part of this romance was definitely Grayson. I can’t say I enjoyed Alyssa too much – I’m just not a big fan of this type of heroine. But Grayson was such a sweetheart, so in love and affection, and I seriously just wanted happiness for him.

The conflict with her past romance is definitely on the serious side, and not at all expected. However, it did make me appreciate her hesitation more, and it definitely added another level to the romance which seemed more light and fluffy at first glance.

Overall, I liked Getting Down to Business, and Grayson is definitely a sweetheart hero to love. It’s got a nice kick of sexy, and for those who like the difficult heroine I recommend this romance.

Some jobs come with unexpected benefits . . .

Alyssa runs her personal life just like her professional one: smoothly and efficiently. She learned in the worst way possible that investing her heart in a relationship only leads to disaster, and she won’t take that risk again. Pleasure is still on the table though—as long as there are no feelings involved. Until a one-night stand leaves a lasting impression.

When after-work drinks lead to an after-hours hookup, Grayson finds himself playing by Alyssa’s rules—but she leaves him wanting more. Even when they discover they work for the same company, Alyssa is all business—on the outside, at least. As far as she’s concerned, keeping Grayson at a safe distance is now part of her job description, even if it’s her most challenging task. But when her living situation falls apart, Grayson makes her an offer she can’t refuse . . .

The terms of their new merger are strict: roommates only; hands off. But every contract can be broken—and every heart can be melted—if the deal is sweet enough . . .
