In Guilty as Sin (Sin Trilogy #2) by Meghan March, Coming back to her hometown to lay low and find a  measure of peace in her life, Whitney Gable is instead facing down even more controversy and problems. Top of the list is Lincoln Riscoff. The man who stole her heart ten years ago and never gave it back. She should avoid him at all costs, something that Whitney does attempt to do, but they just can’t seem to stay away from each other. And with the tragedy that touched their lives a decade ago still fresh in each of their families’ minds, that means Whitney has to once again defend her actions. As she and Lincoln rekindle what they once had, realizing that time has only made them appreciate each other more, she knows she will stand up and fight for what she wants. Which has always been–and will always be–Lincoln Riscoff.

‘Trying to manage a man like Lincoln is like sneaking up on a mountain lion out in the woods, tweaking his tail, and jumping back, hoping you don’t get mauled.
Totally stupid. Definitely crazy. But completely exhilarating.’

Lincoln has been thrown so many surprises in regard to his family history in the past few months that it hasn’t been easy to sort it all out. Plus with his first and only love, Whitney, back in town, he’s been constantly reminded of what he lost ten years ago. What should have been his, had he not messed things up so spectacularly. But now is Lincoln’s chance to prove himself worthy of Whitney and to be the one to help her face down the multitude of issues standing in their way. Starting with the old rivalry between the Riscoffs and Gables. If they could just get their families to let go of past hurt, Lincoln and Whitney might stand a chance at something close to a happily ever after. Although once things start looking up for them, tragedy strikes yet again. And this time it could be enough to tear them apart for good.

‘I don’t want to be another guy on the list of people who hurt her. I want to be the man to protect her from the world.’

The forbidden romance was just as passionate and the emotions as gritty and raw as ever with book two, Guilty as Sin, in Meghan March’s provocative Sin trilogy. And you won’t believe the shocking revelations that were unveiled!

‘A Gable and a Riscoff could never be together. Fate would never let it happen.’

If it’s possible, I swear there was even more drama in this sequel to Richer Than Sin. The family saga was in full swing. The personal relationships were breaking down. More deets on the Riscoff and Gable family histories were revealed. And the romance between Whitney and Lincoln was even more smoking hot–albeit they were at a point where they sort of started over as a couple. I think for some readers, the multiple twists to the plot could be a tad much, although I personally had a heck of a good time with it. But, again, this trilogy has purposefully been almost soap opera-ish in the level of over the top surprises and drama, so I expect–and have enjoyed–these elements.

Lincoln and Whitney still had quite the fight on their hands to convince their family and friends that a Riscoff and a Gable could get along. Let alone fall in love. This installment found our heroine still learning how to stand up for herself and for those she loved while remaining the caring, loyal woman she had always been. And even more was revealed about the sacrifices Whitney made for Lincoln and their families, proving that she was one tough cookie. I liked how this portion of the trilogy showed Lincoln of course being the passionate guy he always has been, but he was thinking further ahead about how things would affect those around him. He had a tendency to not trust anyone (I don’t blame him, given his past) and it made Lincoln think the worst of those around him. I think this book showed him working on those issues thanks to him wanting to be the man he thought Whitney deserved. *sigh*

Meghan March layered in so much drama and so many surprises that I could almost hear the mysterious music “Dun Dun Duuuuun!” several times. (lol) We were left with another cliffhanger at the end of Guilty as Sin, but don’t worry…book three has already been released and I’m sure will wrap everything up for us nicely.

Guilty until proven innocent.
That’s the way the world works, right?
I’m tired of being convicted without evidence, all because my last name is Gable.
The Riscoffs might own this town, but I’m done following their rules.
If only I could forget just how easily Lincoln Riscoff can drag me under his spell.
