In Heart Trouble by Tommie Conrad, Brant Conner has a good life. He works on his family’s cattle ranch and while he may work sunrise to sundown he has the help of his best friend and the man he considers his brother Rawlings. The only downside is that being the only son brings with it lots of expectations that he believes that he has not met.
Marissa Sloan was raised singlehandedly by her mother, without any help from her father. She knows that her mother has worked hard and unfortunately she was not able to get into the undergraduate program to finish her career as a psychologist and there are not many jobs out there with her degree. Thankfully her mother’s friend got her a job as a clerk at a farm store. She will work there until she can go back to school.
Neither Marissa nor Brant expect is to find love the first time they meet. But this brooding and supposedly playboy will have to gather his courage to ask her out, even if it is only the second time they meet. And as much as Marissa wants to play hard to get, she knows that if she wants to have something with him she must give him a chance, for she knows how much people can be wrong in their perception of others.
This is a beautiful story that will make you smile, and not only because you get two romances in one. You get to see Brant and Marissa fall in love, but you will also see their friends Rowlings and Rowan follow in their footsteps close behind. You also get to see how feelings can run deeper than the eye can see, the way they do in Brant’s father. And the way that feelings can help you go through anything to have your loved one follow their dreams and have the courage to go through separation and still believe in the one you love.
Don’t miss Heart Trouble by Tommie Conrad, it will certainly make you smile with the two romanaces brewing in there.

Brandt Conner is living the good life. Sure, work on his family’s ranch is hard and keeps him busy from sunup to sundown, but at least he’s got his best friend to help. There are only two sore spots in his life: lack of a loving, romantic relationship and a brittle connection with his father.
Marissa Sloan has no relationship with her father; she doesn’t even remember the man. But her dreams and plans haven’t worked out, and she finds herself working at a feed store to make ends meet. When Marissa meets Brandt, sparks fly and they are forced to grow up in a hurry.
Brandt isn’t rich but he wants for nothing in the material sense, and Marissa must ignore the negative view some have of Brandt’s ways, his romantic past, and his free-wheeling reputation. In Marissa, Brandt finds his other half – but if Marissa pursues her dreams of higher education, she’ll have to leave after just one summer together.
Will Brandt let her go? Or can he become the man he was meant to be?
