His Brother’s Bride by Amy Vastine in the Stop the Wedding! Series. It was well written, interesting, and had a great storyline. The characters were developed and were easy to connect with. I had never read any of this author’s books, but I would read more of her books since this one was so enjoyable. The connection between Sadie and Jonathan was strong and you could feel it while Owen seems to be disconnected from Sadie, but we find out why at the end of the book.

Sadie Chapman didn’t expect a marriage proposal when she went to have dinner at her boyfriend Owen Bradley’s house. They had only been dating for two months so she was surprised and then Jonathan, Owen’s widowed brother, walking in during the middle of the proposal added more pressure. Sadie usually took longer to consider things, but with her mother just finishing chemotherapy and pressuring Sadie to get married and have children, she agreed to marry Owen. She felt like Owen was a good, stable man and she could come to love him with time.

Owen was a professional golfer and was taking time off in August, so they decided to have the wedding in two months, during August. Both couple’s parents were alarmed at the fast wedding plans and Jonathan was scared Owen was still in love with his ex-girlfriend. Due to unexpected circumstances, Sadie must move in with Owen until the wedding.

Jonathan and Riley help Sadie with the wedding preparations while Owen is on tour and Riley becomes very attached to Sadie, who has helped the girl overcome some of her grief from the loss of her mother. The attraction between Sadie and Jonathan grows, but Jonathan is determined not to cause problems with his brother’s wedding and happiness. Sadie is very confused by her feelings and not sure if she is willing to lose Owen and Jonathan if she breaks the engagement because she knows Jonathan would stand by his brother. Miscommunication and doubts will need to be addressed before they can all have a happy future.

The book was very emotional but in the end, it all works out. I hope to see a future book with Owen in it. He was a great person but not a good match for Sadie.
