His Love Lesson by Nicki Night just proves that you can have it all. You can go after your dreams without sacrificing passion.
Chey’s fiancée is a dream killer. He doesn’t care about her dreams or her what she wants out of life, so she calls off the wedding and moves to New York. She decides to go back to school and put her dream of becoming a perfumer to reality. The last thing she needs in her life is a man interrupting her plans, but when a snowstorm leaves Chey and Hunter in close quarters, a man is exactly what she needs.
Hunter is tired of meaningless trysts and is on the lookout for the right woman to settle down with. When Hunter goes to Utah to meet up with his frat brothers for a fun filled weekend, he never expected a snowstorm to derail his flight back home. With nowhere to go and no openings at the inn, Chey offers her extra room to Hunter and he eagerly accepts. The longer they are snowed in, the harder it is to keep their hands off of each other.
“He felt the need to handle her with care and dignity, hoping to make her feel like his priority.”
After Chey and Hunter’s vacation is over, it’s time to return to reality and Chey believes a clean break is the best way to handle their situation. After all, what’s the chance of them running into each other again? Turns out, Hunter is one of Chey’s professors and drama ensues. Hunter is successful, sexy, and always has women throwing themselves at him but when he sees Chey again, he only wants her. Too bad, the other woman who wants Hunter, decides Chey needs to stay away from him.
I liked Chey as a heroine. She knows what she wants out of life and doesn’t let anything get in her way. Her persistence is noteworthy. Chey and Hunter both exhibit a strong attraction to each other, one where it’s hard to ignore. I really enjoyed the challenge they both had to go through trying to keep their relationship under wraps until Chey’s graduation. It couldn’t be easy keeping their relationship in the friend zone, knowing how much they wanted each other. The story itself is written very well and I would definitely read from this author again.
