How to Resist Your Rival by Rachel Dov: Harper’s battle with the infuriating snack machine commences this beautiful medical romance by Rachel Dove. Literally falling into the arms of her love neuro scientist Dominic (not that either knew right then and there how live changing this moment in time was) sets the scene for Dom’s rejection of a revolutionary and life-changing collab between the two; and not of the personal kind.
Normally applying for funding, scientists, robotics and neuroscience prompts sci-fi feels and how Rachel turns this into a steamy romance is captivating. Harper is not only 3D, she jumps off the page! She is so enjoyable to read! I’m right there next to her through every failure and success. Dom is a prickly winter plant who comes out to bloom as he falls for his Harps.
Medical romances have a special place; to carve a modern love story around unique situations and scenario’s and throw in medical professionals who shine with their knowledge and passion for their world takes great care and skill and that’s what I feel after closing How to Resist Your Rival by Rachel Dove. A fantastic read; impactful and just such a joy. Not a word wasted. Me, who has no knowledge of any of the covered topics was not lost at all. The story flowed beautifully with emotion and passion and brilliant situations; I can’t put into words how much I really enjoyed it.
I would recommend this story to absolutely all medical romance lovers AND to those those wanting to dabble in this line. A shining example.
