In Dog We Trust by Beth Kendrick: Jocelyn has always loved dogs and despaired of never being able to have one of her own. She didn’t know quite how much her life would change when she fell into a dog walker role for three playful, show dog Labradors. As a life-long resident of the ocean side tourist town, she’s naturally suspicious of the seasonal residents with their mansions, money, and lifestyle, including the wealthy and elderly owner of the Labs.

Jocelyn is smart, funny, and would love to travel. She thinks her life and relationships are on the right track when she becomes the unexpected guardian to the Labs and their inheritance including a sizeable fortune and the mansion and her wealthy boyfriend breaks up with her. She quickly learns that having money only means more problems, including Liam.

Liam is the estranged son and he is none too happy that just about everything was left to his father’s prized dogs. Contesting the will is only the first step as he has his own plans for his late father’s estate. It’s too bad that Liam just so happens to be sexy, sometimes charming, and great with dogs.

“I didn’t do it for him, I did it for the dogs.”
“Even though they bogarted the house you wanted?”
“It’s not their fault my father acted like an ass.”
“It’s not mine, either,” Jocelyn pointed out.

Jocelyn loves the little family she’s nurturing with the dogs and she’s trying to adjust to her new life. Everyone seems to have something to say about her inheritance and how she’s making decisions for and on behalf of the dogs. It doesn’t help that there is an attraction and connection to Liam in spite of the estate. They have quite a bit in common as they banter, debate, strategize, and grow closer.

“You’re probably right.”
“It’s going to be nothing but trouble.”
He nodded. “Is that a no?”
She paused. “I’ll think about it.”

In Dog We Trust is heartfelt, funny, and engaging. Beth Kendrick created an entertaining and diverse cast of characters in friends, family, residents, and other beneficiaries. Ms. Kendrick put her own spin on the ups and downs of finding money, passion, and love. Fans of Teri Wilson and Cindy Kirk will enjoy In Dogs We Trust.

Publication:  January 8th 2019 | Berkley Books | Black Dog Bay #5

From the author of Once Upon a Wine, a new novel set in the charming seashore town of Black Dog Bay, Delaware.

When everything has gone to the dogs . . .

When Jocelyn Hillier is named legal guardian for the late Mr. Allardyce’s pack of pedigreed Labrador retrievers, her world is flipped upside down. She’s spent her entire life toiling in the tourism industry in Black Dog Bay and never expected to be living the pampered life of a seasonal resident in an ocean side mansion, complete with a generous stipend. But her new role isn’t without its challenges: The dogs (although lovable) are more high-maintenance than any Hollywood diva, the man she wants to marry breaks her heart, and she’s confronted at every turn by her late benefactor’s estranged son, Liam, who thinks he’s entitled to the inheritance left to the dogs.

Jocelyn has worked too hard to back down without a fight, and she’s determined to keep her new fur family together. As she strives to uphold the “Best in Show” standards her pack requires, Jocelyn finds love, family, and forgiveness in the most unexpected places.
