In Love and War by Tara Mills will keep you hooked from beginning to end and will take you on a beautiful emotional journey.

ILAWAriela Perrine is an interior designer, she is not looking for love, but fate has other plans for her. After her parent’s heart wrenching story, Ariela has learned to build walls around her heart to keep it from being hurt again.

Dylan is a journalist willing to give his life in order to tell the story of the oppression of Iraq’s women during the war. He did not expect to fall in love, but an accident has brought Ariela and him face to face.

Ariela did not want to open up to love, but larger-than-life Dylan will get her to see that love is worth the risk with determination, humor and intelligence. But seeing him leave for a place where he might not return to her alive is painful to her. She does not want to risk pain again, she knows how painful it is to loose someone you love so much. But Dylan’s passion to give voice to those who don’t speak for themselves is something that he cannot ignore and may just tear them apart.

The bond that Ariela and Dylan develop is strong, and after the first separation it gets stronger. But the second separation is more painful than they thought it would be. Even if Ariela has Dylan’s dog, Max, as roommate and companion, she misses the man she has fallen in love with.

Ariela and Dylan will both learn that love is worth everything, the risk of pain, and more than a job you love. In Love and War is beautiful written story that also gives us another perspective of sorts to the War.

Book Info

Harlequin JunkiePublisher: Crimson Romance (March 4, 2013)

Ariela Perrine watched how loving a self-sacrificing hero destroyed her mother and left her orphaned at a young age, so, yes, she does tend to go out with lackluster men (with predictable results). But she’s safe. And bored, at least until an accident brings the interior decorator face to face with an unforgettable pair of blue eyes, a playful smile, and his overly affectionate dog.

Journalist Dylan Bond makes her sizzle, but dare she risk it? After all, he’s just returned from Iraq – a war zone, for crying out loud. With his assurance that he’s back to covering domestic stories, her fears are allayed and their relationship hits the tarmac at a dizzying speed.

But then an unexpected phone call lures Dylan into danger for one final, coveted assignment and he falls off everyone’s radar outside the green zone. Sensing something’s gone desperately wrong, Ariela’s ready to make a deal with the devil to find him and get him back safe. As she searches for the man she loves, Ariela discovers that she’s far more resilient than she realized. But will it be enough to preserve her as the days of fear and panic stretch on?
