In Manwhore by Katy Evans, Rachel Livingston has spent her life dreaming of becoming a successful writer, giving Manwhorethe public stories about the challenges that people face everyday. Working at Edge magazine has put her foot in the door to achieving her goals. And now her boss has just given her the opportunity of a lifetime: write an expose on Chicago’s most eligible bachelor, billionaire Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. To do so, however, Rachel will have to use her female charms to gain an inside look into the man behind the public persona.

“What is this? Am I a challenge to you now?”
His lips quirk. “A challenge is something you stop wanting once you acquire it. I can’t know if you’re a challenge yet until I make you mine.”

Saint unnerves Rachel from day one. She’s relatively inexperienced with men and being in the presence of a larger-than-life man such as Saint is overwhelming. Yet somehow they have a connection that neither one of them can explain. So as Rachel scores follow up interviews and even invitations to local events on the arm of her sexy sinner, she tells herself that she can remain professional and detached. But Saint works his way under her skin and into her heart before she can get her story written, leaving Rachel to wonder if she’s lost herself to the ultimate playboy.

I put my hand on his thigh playfully. “You make my world spin a little faster.”
“I’d like to rock it even more,” he rumbles, and I laugh.
He looks at me, his grin, his eyes, all of him mischief to the tenth power. Mischief and sin.

A mischievous and seductive billionaire playboy who’s hiding a kind heart beneath his custom-tailored suits? Yes, please!

“Come closer. Come closer and tell me what you want, say it dirty,” I beg in his ear.
“Tell you?” he says in his quiet voice. “I’m going to show you.”

I knew back when I read REAL, that Katy Evans would be a writer to watch. But I had to wonder how she would ever come close to creating a dynamic character like Remy again. Well, Malcolm Saint turned out to be every bit as intriguing and enigmatic–but in his own sophisticated way. Completely likable and sinfully fun, Saint was a pleasant surprise. Add to that our heroine, Rachel, who narrates the story, naive and charming in her own right, she manages to learn a whole heck of a lot about herself while holding her own with that powerful hunk. Not too shabby considering the differences in their backgrounds and her lack of relationship experience.

I think what I loved most about Saint and Rachel’s story was the way every scene was described in depth. Everything from where her head was at, to how Saint’s attention made her feel, to the overwhelming tug Rachel felt between doing her job and falling for him. It was written so vividly that it was like experiencing those feelings firsthand with her. I also enjoyed how much both Rachel and Saint changed throughout their time together. He was much more warm and caring than the press made him out to be. Okay, so he did have a dirty mouth and was sex on a stick. But he was a good guy overall. 😉

And Rachel was stronger and smarter than she gave herself credit for. I could completely understand why she would question catching the attention of Chicago’s hottest bachelor when he had so many women to choose from. I also admit that I wanted to give her a stern talking-to a few times when she ran away from Saint when things got too intense. But he certainly wasn’t afraid to pursue her, much to our benefit, as it bumped up the passion in the subsequent scenes. The only character I had an issue with was Rachel’s friend Gina. She kind of got on my nerves a bit playing devil’s advocate and warning her away from Saint. I understood why, but she was relentless about it. (You’ll see…)

I will warn readers that Manwhore has a cliffhanger ending. Not too dramatic, but it left things unanswered about where Rachel & Saint stand. So, I absolutely cannot wait to read Manwhore + 1 when it comes out midsummer 2015! I hope fans of steamy and emotionally turbulent romances will also fall in love this story.

Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player—without getting played?

This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.

Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.

Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?

Thanks for the review, Michele. It’s great to find a hot hero who’s also really nice. LOL But I’m not a fan of cliffhangers.
