Marry-Me-on-Main-StreetMarry Me on Main Street by Luann McLane: Susan was a bit of a loner in school. She always felt out of place growing up, but she’s really started to come out of her shell since she opened up her shop. Susan is very creative and loves to find treasures in what others leave behind by repurposing them for her shop. She’s creative, smart, and a bit clumsy.

Danny is devoted to his family and their many businesses in Cricket Creek. But as he sees his siblings carve their own path with successful businesses and finding love, he feels like he’s falling behind. He would love nothing more than to have his own hand-crafted furniture business, but he simply has no time. Danny is loyal, dedicated, generous, and family-oriented.

Susan used to have quite the crush on Danny, so she was over the moon when he asked her to their high school dance. They had a great night with a kiss to remember, so she was crushed to later find out that their moms orchestrated the date. While Cricket Creek is a small town, Susan has successfully dodged and avoided Danny at all costs over the last 10 years until he comes to her rescue.

“This feels like déjà vu. Sort of.”
“I’ll have you out of there in no time.” He hoped, anyway.
“Thank you,” she answered in a pitiful tone that tugged at his heart. “You’ve made a habit of coming to my rescue.”

Susan is mortified to have Danny rescue her and on more than one occasion. She never wanted to revisit the past, so she was quite surprised to find that Danny was seemingly asking her on dates. Danny is thrilled to finally have Susan talk to him as they discover that they have quite a bit in common. The attraction they discovered after the dance is still there and Danny is more than ready to explore the possibilities. He’s ready to be more persistent this time around.

“I don’t know the rules of dating.”
“How about we make our own rules?”
“I like that suggestion,” she said, feeling a rush of excitement. “And what are they?”
“We can make they up as we go, starting with you can call or invite me to anything. And I want you to appear eager. It’s good for my ego.”

Marry Me on Main Street is a feel good second chance romance perfect for the holiday season. LuAnn McLane blends together two very different people with humor, heart, and heat. Ms. McLane provides great characters and the feeling of Christmas with the snow, decorations, and celebrations. Fans of Kimberly Lang, Susan Mallery, and Beth Ciotta will enjoy Marry Me on Main Street.
