In More than a Convenient Marriage? by Dani Collins, Gideon and Adara’s marriage has reached a road block. Their marriage of convenience which appeared to be the perfect solution to all her problems has become nothing but an inconvenience for Adara and an incident finally forces her to realize the stark bleak truth of her marriage. She wants a divorce but Gideon is not willing to face the public scrutiny the divorce will bring. He his also not willing to face the secrets of his painful past again and will do anything to win Adara back to save their marriage.
Will their marriage become more than a just convenience..??
More Than a Convenient Marriage did start off not that great for me but as the story progressed I started liking it and it turned out so much better than my expectations. Adara and Gideon’s non existent communication leads their marriage to a breaking point and when they finally started communicating, it was so refreshing to see a hero and heroine not brooding over a problem but letting it out instead. Their passion was so hot and high on the steamy factor that it got my pulse racing every time without fail. Adara had fertility issues and most of the story is about the couple facing the problems regarding the same. There are other problems in their marriage too like the big secret involving Giedon’s past which was really unexpected and forms the climax of the story. The only problem with the whole book was the epilogue which I thought was unnecessary and could have been avoided.
“I’m not in the mood to go out right now,” she said sharply, grasping desperately for an even tone to hide how close she was to completely breaking down.
“Adara, I’m—”
“Don’t you dare say you’re sorry!” she whipped around to cry. Distantly she was aware of her control skidding out of reach, but the storm billowing to life inside her was beyond her ability to quell.
“I’m not going anywhere,” he said with quiet ferocity, moving toward her with what seemed like a wave of equally intense emotions swirling around him.
“Whatever happens, I’m staying right here.” He pointed at the floor between their feet. “I won’t leave you alone again. This is happening to us.”
Overall More Than a Convenient Marriage is another great book by Dani Collins that does not fail to tug at your heartstrings. It is a realistic romance involving a lovable couple who work together on their problems for a better future.
