REVIEW: No Strings Attached by Susan Anderson

In No Strings Attached (Razor Bay #3) by Susan Anderson, Tasha Riordan spent her childhood listening to her mother claim every new boyfriend she had was The One. But they never were. So Tasha has resigned herself to the fact that true love just isn’t for the Riordan women. Her one foray into following her heart turned out horrendously wrong seven years ago when she became captivated by Diego on her trip to the Bahamas. He landed her in jail for two terrible nights when she was mistakenly charged with holding drugs for him. Which she NSAwould never, ever do. So when Diego turns up in Razor Bay and Tasha finds out he’s actually Luc Bradshaw, the brother of two close friends, furious doesn’t come close to explaining her frame of mind. How will she ever trust any word out his mouth again after what happened back then?

“…Finally, I understood what Mom had been chasing all those years with her perpetual search for love. From the moment we met, it was just so…effortless. He made me feel smart. Beautiful. And, God, so, so golden.”

Luc Bradshaw was more than surprised to find out he had two half brothers he’d never heard of until his father passed away. A trip to Razor Bay to locate them brings another surprise. He comes face to face with the one woman he’s never been able to forget: Tasha. Their short time together in the Bahamas after a chance encounter was nothing short of magical. But when his job tore him away unexpectedly that night seven years ago, he thought she had moved on without him. Turns out there was a lot more to the situation than his boss ever told him. Now Luc is determined to figure out what really happened and also win back Tasha’s attention…maybe he can win her heart in the process, too.

‘His chemistry with Tasha was every bit as combustive as it had ever been, but she was pissed with him six ways from Sunday, and convincing her not to be would take a helluva lot of work.’

No Strings Attached is a contemporary romance that had me feeling every emotion under the sun, but mostly, glad I came back to Razor Bay for another installment of Susan Anderson’s wonderful writing.

We get to know a lot of characters in this story. Some from the previous two books, some new. Ultimately this centers around Tasha and Luc, with their crazy backstory from seven years ago. But I was very happy that some of the secondary characters, specifically Jeremy and Peyton, got their chance to shine here as well. I was every bit as invested in them as I was our protagonists, so to me, that is a true testament to how well Ms. Anderson molded her characters and story together. And somehow between reading book two and book three, I forgot just how steamy and passionately the love scenes are written. Whew. Talk about sexy–and fun!

Luc and Tasha had insane chemistry together, beginning back in the Bahamas and it only seemed to have intensified when they meet again in Razor Bay. I will admit I was a little put off by how fast Tasha jumped to conclusions with Luc, but after finding out everything that happened to her during her two days in jail, I had to give her a free pass on her attitude. It was quite something watching Tasha come to terms with her view on relationships after being clouded by her mother’s quest for love all her life. And I loved not only Luc’s growing bond with his newly found brothers, Max and Jake, but how completely sideswiped he was when he realized his feelings for Tasha. Nothing like seeing a big tough guy crumble from the intensity of love. 🙂

I would recommend No Strings Attached if you love romances with a solid plot, great small town feel, and where a confusing mixed up situation blossoms into true love.

Some mistakes are worth repeating…

Tasha Riordan’s one night with Luc Bradshaw was the best of her life. The following two—when she got thrown into a Bahamian jail on bogus charges—were her worst. Now, seven years later, the undercover DEA agent is back. Invading her town. Her restaurant. Her fantasies. She can’t trust a man who lied to her. Yet, neither can she trust herself—not when their chemistry burns even hotter than before.

Learning he has two half brothers shocks Luc. Discovering they live in the same town as Tasha—that’s a different kind of thrill. Their mutual lust is still off the charts, but he can’t get her to listen to his side of what happened on that long-ago night. Good thing he’s got powers of persuasion that go deeper than words. Because nothing has ever felt this right…

I have been hearing good things about this book! I bought the first one & didn’t get to it yet, but didn’t get the 2nd book. Do you suggest I read them all in order? Are the stories connected?

    • Michele

The stories do intersect with characters showing up in both books, so if you don’t want spoilers as to what happened in book one, you may want to read these in order. Enjoy!!

Ok, I will read them in order. I usually do, anyway. Thanks for the advice!

I haven’t read any other books in this series but loved this one. Loved the subplot with the younger generation.
