Not Your Ex’s Hexes by April Asher: Rose Maxwell has spent her entire life preparing to take the place of the next Witch Prima, but now that her eldest triplet sister has finally come into her magic and taken over as the rightful Prima Apparent, Rose can’t help but feel a bit lost. Now its not that she isn’t thrilled for Violet, its just that Rose kind of doesn’t know where she fits in…which is kind of how she winds up getting arrested and serving community serves at an animal rescue sanctuary for one very grumpy half demon veterinarian… who also happens to be the guy that she shared one very steamy encounter with… what could possibly go wrong, right?

LOVED!! I totally adored this book! Not Your Ex’s Hexes was a total blast to read, this quirky cute supernatural romcom was just the book I have been looking for with all that magicy goodness it was impossible to out down! Im so kicking myself for not reading the first book in this series but I’m about to right that wrong asap! Nevertheless this can be read as a standalone but lets be honest you are really going to want to get yourself the entire series!

I just loved Rose, our leading lady was a hoot to read with her quick wit and kind heart, she had a winning personality combination that made it hard not to like her. I really loved getting to follow her as she tried to figure out her place in the world after stepping down as Prima Apparent. Gosh did she have a few unlucky jobs to start of with but once she found her way to the animal sanctuary and Damian it all just clicked. I absolutely loved that she was such a strong willed lady and that even when it came to trying her hand at bounty hunting she did not back down, talk about being a boss witch right there! Even though Rose is the more level headed of the three Maxwell triplets she is far from boring and we get to see her really experimenting without boundaries in this book and I for one loved it.

Who doesn’t love a hot grumpy bad boy? Well our hero Damian Adams checks this box and then some. This guy had the entire tortured hero vibe down to an art but to be fair he had been hexed by his anger ex witch girlfriend and his father was a total deadbeat meanie who poisoned Damian’s relationship with his brother Jules, so the guy had a lot to be grumpy about. I really enjoyed getting to uncover his past and really getting to see how this half demon found his way to caring for animals. More than anything I absolutely loved seeing Damian trying to fight his feelings for Rose.

Good gosh the chemistry between Rose and Damian was intense! These two were most definitely made for each other and the tension that radiated of them each time they were together only made that all the more clear! I loved the playful banter and flirting between Rose and Damian as they tried to dance around their attraction. And let me just tell you once these two collided things only got hotter! Also Damian’s grand gesture was a total swoon! I loved that they had always been fated to be together and all of this was a journey to bring them to each other. Total swoon worthy!

The secondary characters in this book were brilliant! I just loved the bond between the Maxwell triplets and their succubus bestie Harper. These ladies had me in stitches each time they came together, be it their horse jailbreak or just girls nigh in, they were just hilarious and I could not get enough of them. I loved that they were each so involved and invested in the others lives and always ready to support each other. As for our other demon prince, well there was something charming about Jules. I really liked getting to see him trying to work on his relationship with Damian and getting to see a nicer side of him. Hopefully there will be a book for Jules in the near future, fingers crossed!

If Rose and Damian’s story is anything to go by then the next book in this series is sure to be a total hit, I can not wait to see what Asher has planned for our last Maxwell sister and her Archangel hero! Not Your Ex’s Hexes is a total must read this magicy cute forced proximity, grump meets sunshine romance will steal your heart in no time at all!

For her entire life, Rose Maxwell trained to become the next Prima on the Supernatural Council. Now that she’s stepped down, it’s time for this witch to focus on herself. And not think about her impulsive one-night stand with Damian Adams, a half-Demon Veterinarian who she can’t get out of her head. Neither of them is looking for a relationship. But when Rose is sentenced to community service at Damian’s animal sanctuary it becomes impossible for them to ignore their sparking attraction. A friends-with-benefits, no feelings, no strings arrangement works perfectly for them both.

After a sequence of dead-end jobs, it’s not until Rose tangos with two snarly demons that she thinks she’s finally found her path. However, this puts Damian back on the periphery of a world he thought he left behind. He doesn’t approve of Rose becoming a Hunter, but if there’s one thing he’s learned about the stubborn witch, it was telling her not to do something was one sure-fire way to make sure she did.

Working—and sleeping—together awakens feelings Damian never knew he had…and shouldn’t have. Because thanks to his ex’s hex, if he falls in love, he’ll not only lose his heart—but his humanity.
