In One Night to Risk It All by Maisey Yates, Rachel Holt has spent years playing the dutiful daughter, hostess, fiance, and she has not once put a foot wrong. Until reaching for just one electrifying night with a handsome stranger gives her a taste of a freedom she’s never known. But this one night has great consequences for them both, especially when Rachel realizes that the stranger is none other ONTRIAthan Alexios Christofides– her to be husband’s biggest enemy.

Gorgeous Greek tycoon Alexios Christofides is notorious for getting exactly what he wants and he’s not above mixing revenge and pleasure. He’s determined to wrench the Holt empire away from his enemy, even if it means seducing the man’s fiancee. It doesn’t prove that difficult until Rachel finds out his true identity!

This book is connected with His Ring is not Enough which is also by Maisey Yates. This book is about the eldest sister, Rachel Holt who flees the altar in the first book.

One Night to Risk It All by Maisey Yates is a well written romance with a good mix of a couple of tropes. It had revenge, running away from the altar and pregnancy after one night trope. The story starts out really great and it maintains a steady pace throughout the book. The hot chemistry between the main characters and the explicit passionate lovemaking they both share sets the pages on fire.

Alexios is a self made man in every sense of the word. He had a horrific childhood and is out for revenge because of the same. Though he was taking his revenge a little too far by seducing his enemy’s fiancé, he had solid reasons for being bitter over his past. I liked that he realized early on that his feelings for Rachel and his unborn child ran deeper than just revenge. Rachel came across a little immature  and annoying at times. She failed to impress me at all levels because I could not relate to or understand any of her actions. She had a troubled past and had been in a major trouble for her mistakes once. I was OK with her past mistakes because we all have flaws and the important thing was that she learned something out of all that.

Overall,One Night to Risk It All by Maisey Yates is a well written romance with a promising plot-line.

I read the first book and was afraid I’d missed the connecting one. I’m glad to see I didn’t and am looking forward to reading it. Thanks for the review, Ipshita.
