One Perfect Kiss by Jaci Burton: Josie has found her home in Hope. She loves teaching at the local high school (on most days), has found a great group of friends, and lives in a home where she can have pets. Josie is smart, caring, and dedicated, yet she’s also private and guarded. She learned that she had to rely only on herself from an early age. She has a feisty, but lovable cat Tumbleweed and she plans to adopt more.

Zach wasn’t expecting to teach, but he’s found that teaching and coaching the high school football team are pretty fulfilling. He gets to help shape young athletes and pass on the lessons he didn’t learn at their age. He lost more than just his football career when he was injured, and moving to Hope has been good for him. He’s sexy, smart, funny, and generous.

Josie and Zach share the same group of friends and they both teach at the high school. Both have felt the attraction for a while, yet neither one has made a move. After being burned by her last boyfriend, Josie isn’t looking for a relationship or love.

Her lips quirked. “See, I knew there was a reason I liked you.”
“Only one reason?”
“What, you want a list?”
“A list would be good. You can start anytime.”

Josie and Zach grow closer as Zach has to help his players keep their grades up in her class. They also start to spend more time together as just the two of them and get to know more about each other. They dance around their attraction until finally taking that next step. Josie pushes him and he supports her and gets her to attend the football games. Zach is adorable and funny while interacting with all the pets.

“He’s really cute. Will he take a bite out of my ankle like the Prince of Darkness?”
She straightened and rolled her eyes. “You’re such a baby.”
No one had ever called him a baby. “I am not. I’ve been tackled by a two-hundred-pound lineman. I think I can handle a little pain.”

One Perfect Kiss is entertaining with that balance between friendship, family, football, conflict, and romance. Jaci Burton doesn’t disappoint with the latest installment in the Hope series with great characters, adorable pets, banter, tension, and plenty of heat. One Perfect Kiss can be read as a standalone in this series. Fans of Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jill Shalvis, and Kate Meader will love One Perfect Kiss.

The New York Times bestselling author of Love Me Again returns to the town of Hope, Oklahoma where school is in session and love rules the playbook.

Josie Barnes has always craved a sense of home. She’s found that in Hope, Oklahoma–she bought a house, has a new job as an English teacher at Hope High, she’s made wonderful friends, and she’s taking in stray animals that no one else wants. Now she’s flirting with fellow teacher and hot high school football coach Zach Powers. But he’s almost too good to be true, and Josie learned long ago not to trust in the too-good-to-be-true, because it has always let her down.

A former pro football player, Zach had to pull back when a career-ending knee injury forced him to rethink his future. Now he’s happy calling plays as Coach. If he could just get Josie Barnes to stop benching his players for their poor grades, life would be perfect. Instead, she drives him crazy as the stern teacher at school and the sexy woman of his dreams outside of the classroom. He knows she’s been hurt in the past, but he wants to be that guy she can trust.

The one thing Josie has never been able to count on is the people closest to her. But Zach intends to show her that what they have between them is a textbook case of love.
