Out of the Blue by P. Dangelico: Four years ago Blue Baldwin put the hustle and bustle life of L.A behind her, now the former paramedic is all about the small town life and helping care for her beloved rescue animals while living on the ranch with her friend and boss Mona. The last thing Blue has time for is to help babysit a spoiled star try and rehab his image but with the ranch in need of a financial boost she has little to no choice but to put up with the Hughe brothers for the next three months. Blue just never expected to find this grump to steamroll right into her heart in the process.
“It’s you . Always you . You’re all I think about. Morning, noon, and night.”
I absolutely adore Dangelico’s books, there is just something so captivating about her writing style that gets me each time and Out Of The Blue was no different. This book was most definitely a slow burn romance that has you filled with angst and wanting, it was a bit slow to start of with but once things got going it was hard to put down. I really loved the plot and idea of the entire novel taking place on this animal rescue sanctuary, but gosh did my heart break for some of those poor creatures!
“You’re the most maddening woman I have ever met. But you are hands down the best person I know. No one has ever come close. No one will ever come close.”
Blue was such a beautiful lead character, I loved getting to follow her as she overcame the hurt and trauma of her old life. I really liked that she found her solace in helping these mistreated animals and just living a more simple life. However when it came to the Hughe brothers things got interesting and fast! I loved the back and forth banter that she share with both brothers but it was easy to see the intense connection that she shared with Shane. I really enjoyed getting to see them figure out their relationship and finding their way to each other, but gosh was this journey just an angsty one!
“Truth is loving you is the easiest thing I’ve ever done . As easy as breathing.”
Shane was a mystery wrapped in a grouchy shell, he was going through his own personal turmoil and did jot open up easily. Not only did he have his own issues to deal with but he also had to deal with his super star brother Aiden. Which is how he finds himself smack bang in a farm dealing with the sassy Blue. I loved that she rocked his world in the best way possible. I do think that he could have handled a few situations better but everything worked out in the end. To be fair he did make it hard to love him at first and if we had gotten to read a bit if the story from his point of view maybe it would have been easier to love him earlier.
I have to mention Mona, oh gosh she was just a hoot! I loved her character to bits and that we also got to see her grow and come out of her shell. One of the things that stole my heart in this book has to be the animals! I really did not expect to cry as much as I did because of them. This was definitely a heart-warming read all round!
Out Of The Blue was a beautiful slow burn romance that will touch your heart and leave you tearing up here and there. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Life comes at you fast and love comes out of the blue…
A small-town romance about letting go of the past and learning to live in the moment.
Blue Baldwin takes no horse crap from anybody. Well, actually, that’s not entirely true. She does take horse crap. Piles of it. The real kind that is––not the metaphorical one. It kind of goes with the job description when you run a large animal rescue. What she does not take, however, is crap from an entitled movie star who needs to reform his rotten image.
Unfortunately, the farm she manages is in trouble and if she doesn’t raise the cash to save it she’ll be homeless along with the precious animals who depend on her. So she’ll grin and bear the King of Hollywood Screw Ups, and the assistant, and the overprotective brother he brings along. I mean, she takes care of large animals for a living. Isn’t that basically the same thing?
