In Penthouse Prince by Kendall Ryan, First grade teacher Corrigan Stewart thought she had put her first love, her older brother’s best friend Lexington Dane, into the far distant past. He broke her heart when he took off for college and to live the high life in NYC. But unfortunately all it takes is one phone call and one glance into his smoldering eyes for Corrigan to realize what they had between them is far from over. When Lex needs her help, taking care of sweet little two-year-old Grier for the summer, she wants to tell him no. But just like with Lex, all it takes is a look at Grier’s angelic face and she’s done for. Corrigan can only hope no one’s heart gets broken this time around.

‘Now that he’s looking at me with those perfect, hungry eyes, none of it matters. It’s just Lex and me, right here, right now.
I know what he wants, and I want it too.’

Lex is used to dealing with crises, especially in his booming real estate business in New York. But when it involves his family back in North Carolina? That has him rearranging his priorities in a big way. As Lex makes plans to relocate, at least temporarily, the thought niggles at the back of his mind that he might finally get to set things right with Corrigan. If she’ll talk to him, that is. He’s realized over the years what a fool he was to leave the way he did. And when Lex needs help watching Grier while he gets things settled in his hometown, he can’t think of anyone better than Corrigan. He’s knocked sideways by her beauty when they finally meet again–and by his feelings still present for her. Enough so that Lex will do whatever it takes to make Corrigan a part of his and Grier’s lives…forever.

‘There’s still something between us, no matter how hard she tries to deny it.’

Penthouse Prince was a whirlwind second chance romance that swept me away right from the start. The couple’s residual tension, an absolutely precious toddler who stole the show, and meddling but well-meaning family made this a story worthy of a re-read. (Or two)

‘The media in New York dubbed me the *penthouse prince*. Wealthy…handsome…one of the city’s most eligible bachelors. But the truth was so different. I’m a single dad, not the playboy everyone assumes.’

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with Penthouse Prince. It definitely had the hot and sexy romance I attribute to Kendall Ryan’s writing and it was a complicated situation for our couple like I would certainly expect. But this was mainly set along the shores of the Atlantic in North Carolina–not in New York City as I assumed by looking at the cover. And the setting, I think, made this a much more intimate and down-to-earth story than it might have been if it was in a larger, city setting.

Kendall Ryan writes some amazing characters who nearly jump off the pages, but Lex and Corrigan were quite something. I think she perfectly captured the way Lex was trying to juggle all aspects of his life as a single dad to two-year-old cutie pie Grier and as such a successful real estate mogul. He was sigh-worthy adorable with his toddler. And it seemed like Lex had really put his priorities in order in recent years compared to where his head was at the decade prior when he broke Corrigan’s heart.

Corrigan turned out to be a lot of fun and just a lovely person all around. She was still hung up on how things ended with Lex, although she told herself she’d moved on. She was trying to get back into the dating world but found out it was tougher than she thought. I do think Corrigan took it rather easy on Lex when they saw each other again, ten years after he left town. I probably would’ve made him grovel a bit more! (lol) But I’m a sucker for a reunion romance, and this one felt meant to be. Secret high school sweethearts that get a chance to do things right the second time around? Um, yes please.

Heartwarming enough to make you smile and passionate enough to make your pulse race, Penthouse Prince will easily entertain and charm fans of contemporary romance.

A delicious new single dad standalone romance from New York Times bestseller Kendall Ryan!

Lexington Dane was my brother’s best friend growing up.

We did everything together.

He taught me how to throw a punch, how to change a tire…and he taught me how to kiss. I fell hard and fast, and gave him all my firsts.

I promised I’d wait for him…

But I’m done waiting, because he went off to college and never came back. He took his fancy business degree and moved to New York City, where he promptly became a real estate mogul—turning every penthouse and apartment project he touched into gold.

It’s been ten years, and now he’s back and needs a favor…someone to watch his little girl. That’s right, the cocky penthouse prince and heartbreaker extraordinaire Lexington is back with an adorable two-year-old daughter. Guess who he wants to watch her?

I’ve never been able to say no to him. I might agree to be the nanny for his precious little angel, but there’s no way in hell I’m falling for her hot-as-sin daddy.
