Pity Date by Whitney Dineen: On any other day Faith would be thrilled to see her best friend walk down the aisle towards happily ever after but after being dumped by her cheating ex Faith can’t help but feel a bit less than thrilled about the idea of having to see said ex at the wedding. Riddled with both shock, horror and anger this is how Faith finds herself spilling her guts to a complete stranger… and in the process finding herself a hot new date to make Astor jealous!

Teddy has finally made it big in tinsel town but with all the fame and flashing lights you can’t blame a guy for wanting a bit of a break, which is exactly what bring him back to Elk Lake to spend sometime with his grandfather and really just chill for a bit. What was supposed to be a quick pitstop to get himself some of those gingersnaps that he loved so much growing up soon turns into him volunteering to take the beautiful cookie shop girl to a wedding. Maybe its her total disregard for who he is or the overly sweet smell but Teddy can’t help but find himself smitten to bad she seems to for some odd reason think that he is gay…

Pity Date was easily Dineen’s cutest book to date, this book was equal parts cute and funny. I just loved the fact that it was a low drama, silly cute read. It is impossible not to love a cute small town romance and add in the fact that this was a fake turned real romance and you have yourself the perfect easy breezy read!

Faith was such a great leading lady. She was so easy to love and relate to, ands she was totally hilarious. Her heartbreak was very relatable and so were the emotions that followed. I really liked that she was so accepting when Teddy finally told her the truth and that she did not let this become some huge issue. As for our superstar Hollywood actor Teddy, well he was just the cutest. I loved his character to bits, not only did he have a great relationship with her grandfather but you could see that he genuinely cared about the people close to him. I just loved that he rolled with the misconception that he was gay, this was just hilarious and really what gave the book an interesting spin.

One of the things that I really enjoyed in this book was how easy going both main characters were and how well they clicked with each other. There was no drama or angst between then to take away from a cute little read. Their chemistry was the perfect balance of saucy steam and sugar cute. I really enjoyed getting to follow them as they fell in love.

Pity Date is a total must read! With easy to love characters, low drama and one cute fake turned real romance you don’t want to miss out.

Faith
I should’ve known it wouldn’t work out.

In all my twenty-nine years, life has never been smooth sailing when a man was involved. Astor Hill was everything I’ve ever wanted in a partner—handsome, successful, and interested in me. Until he started cheating. The cherry on the sundae is finding out the truth less than two weeks before we’re supposed to stand up for our best friends at their wedding.

When a staggeringly good-looking and kind stranger comes to town and offers to take me to the wedding, I jump at his proposal. Who cares if he’s gay? Astor doesn’t need to know that.

Teddy
She thinks I’m gay?!

I’m taking a vacation from Hollywood and going back to Elk Lake. My grandfather hasn’t been doing well after Gram died and he needs my support. Luckily, I’m between blockbuster movies so I can make the time.

My first stop is Rosemary’s Bakery for one of the gingersnaps I remember so fondly from my childhood. The only problem is that the girl at the counter has eaten them all. After spilling my tea on me, she bursts into tears and tells me her troubles. I should be annoyed but I’m oddly charmed.

I know what it’s like to be dumped by a cheater, so I do the only thing I can think I offer to take her to the wedding to make her ex jealous. Unfortunately, with the help of the tabloids, things quickly spiral out of control…
