Family trilogy. It’s a captivating merge of enemies to lovers, nanny required and fake fiancée theme with the addition of very cute side characters.
Broken hearted Izzy emerges in sunny Napa Valley after disappearing in Book 1. Determined to help save her elderly former nanny’s home from being torn down and redeveloped by the devilish tycoon Gabriel Ricci, Izzy pays a visit to Gabriel to dissuade him buying Nanny Scott’s home. Former bad boy of the streets, Gabriel has no time for trivial matters such as this and wants everything resolved yesterday. Gabriel is shocked and intrigued by Izzy’s arrival and they briefly discuss the matter at hand when suddenly Gabriel’s daughter’s nanny collapses; sending Gabriel’s ordered world into chaos.
Agreeing to temporarily stand in as Rosa’s nanny, attraction is instant and it’s not long before Izzy and Gabriel start an exciting fling. Complications arise when Gabriel’s ex-wife makes an unexpected appearance and Gabriel declares Izzy as his fiancée. Is this the miracle Nanny Scott needs? Emotions run high! Izzy is falling in love with both Rosa and Gabriel. Gabriel is learning to be a Dad and not used to letting his emotions control him. Everything has its place and order and that’s what he thought makes him powerful and untouchable. The colourful whirlwind of chaos and love that is whipping into him makes for a great read.
I really liked Promoted to the Italian’s Fiancée. I thought Cathy Williams did a great job slowly warming up in the first chapters, setting the scene and then with the help of lovely Nanny Scott and little Rosa, the fate of Gabriel and Izzy is left up to each other to play out beautifully across the pages. There’s a lot of action, lovely characters, a crazy ex-wife, stupid mistakes as per all good Presents hero’s make and an emotional conclusion. There was a fantastic catch up of Izzy’s brother Max and I’m very much looking forward to the final book of the trilogy which is the story of Max and Izzy’s brother James.
