Pushing Her Limits by Sparrow Beckett: Mila is determined to prove herself. She’s had a great career and made detective very quickly, but she continues to push herself to be at the top of her game. She feels like she has to prove herself as a female and as a second generation cop. Her latest assignment is to get to the bottom of the car theft ring, which seems to be run by the Larson’s.

Atlas is a talented hacker by day and car thief by night. He loves all things computer and the thrill of hacking. Stealing cars gives him the same rush and the bonus of working with his family. Things have been a little different with his brother and cousin both finding significant others. Being the third (or fifth) wheel is getting old and Atlas has yet to find someone long-term who matches up with him.

Atlas is a sexy, intimidating badass with his height, muscles, and tattoos. Mila is surprised to find herself attracted to a man she suspects is definitely operating on the wrong side of the law. Both Atlas and Mila find themselves intrigued after their first interaction and reluctantly attracted. She definitely challenges him and brings out his dominant side.

“What is it about you? I told myself I’d stay away, and yet here we are.”
“In a stairwell. Classy.”
He snorted in disgust and let her go. “Apparently, I’m an incurable romantic.”
“Don’t forget gullible,” she reminded him.

Mila finds a surprising side to herself she never knew existed when she’s with Atlas, but they come from different worlds. Atlas and Mila find themselves speeding towards a collision that cannot be avoided when they cross that line and become lovers. Both are conflicted and struggle to know what is real and what is a lie when their relationship began with her investigation into his family.

“Fine. Kitchen only, and you have to behave.”
“I always behave,” he objected, splaying a hand over his heart as though she’d wounded him.
“Yeah.” She snorted. “Badly.”
“Well I didn’t say I was well behaved.”

Pushing Her Limits has conflict, drama, angst, and heat as opposites attract with a cop and her thief. Sparrow Beckett draws you in to a forbidden romance with great chemistry and anticipation. Ms. Beckett provided strong and entertaining characters with a great sense of family. Fans of Jen McLaughlin and Caisey Quinn will enjoy Pushing Her Limits.
