In Richer Than Sin by Meghan March, The town may be named after the Gable family but it’s the Riscoffs who rule the small community. Something Lincoln Riscoff has been taught since he was a child. It is a family rivalry that has shaped his life, his career, and unfortunately even his personal relationships. Starting with when he fell for gorgeous Whitney Gable ten years ago. They had no idea who each other was when they shared a hot as sin night of perfection together. But the moment Whitney realized who Lincoln was, the problems started. He tried to prove to her that their family names didn’t have to define them. But a series of mistakes and miscommunications pushed Whitney into the arms of another man, and after a drunken debacle at her wedding, left Lincoln trying to heal his broken heart. Now, though, ten years later, with Whitney single and back in Gable again, Lincoln is going to prove that this is their second shot at getting it right. And he’s not going to stop until he wins back her heart.

“There are some mistakes a man only makes once, and losing you was one of them.”

Disillusioned not once, but twice, in her life by love, Whitney rode back into her hometown of Gable determined to make a new start–without getting tangled up in a complicated romance again. Her goal of keeping things simple is dashed when she is thrown face to face with Lincoln. The still handsome as sin man who stole her heart ten years ago. Whitney’s determination fades little by little as she realizes that what she had with Lincoln is still just as strong as it was before her life went all to pieces. But with a dark cloud hanging over her about her former husband Ricky’s life and career, and the Riscoff-Gable family saga still playing out, Whitney is soon mired in the drama. Hoping that Lincoln, who should be her sworn enemy, might be her savior is foolish. So Whitney musters up all the strength and courage she can–along with the help of her aunt and cousin–to face down her problems and hopefully find a silver lining for once in her life.

‘Kissing Lincoln Riscoff was like finding salvation when you’d thought all was lost. It didn’t feel like kissing the enemy.’

With “sin” in the title *and* the series name, I just knew I was in for a good time with this book. And Meghan March definitely delivered: with every wickedly, wonderfully scintillating moment of Richer Than Sin, the tension built and the plot twists just kept on coming.

‘That was one thing that would always separate us like an impenetrable wall.
I was broke. He was richer than sin.’

Holy hotness! It’s been awhile since I’ve read anything by Meghan March so I kind of forgot how uber sexy and intense her books can be. They remind me a bit of Julie Kenner’s work in that there’s an erotic edge to the romance without losing the emotional depth or losing any complexity in the storyline itself. So of course I loved every single minute of Richer Than Sin. It was actually a couple of tropes rolled into one, which was quite fun. We had a second chance romance between forbidden lovers Whitney and Lincoln, who were polar opposites in their upbringing due to their highly dramatic small town family rivalry. I’m talking Dynasty-style, over the top theatrics that were honestly so fun that I couldn’t help but get caught up in it all. Then again, I was a child of the 80s who sat down to watch all the soap operas with my mom and sisters…so where is it that my love of all things romance comes from again?? (lol)

The characters March created really seemed genuine to me. And I loved that this was a dual storyline which explored the present day and ten years in the past, back when Lincoln and Whitney first fell for each other. Their family rivalry began many decades before they ever met, making it difficult for them to not only get their family (or the community) on board with their relationship, but also for them to trust each other. It was definitely apparent that what Whitney and Lincoln felt for each other was real, though. I think had they not met in their early to mid-twenties, they may have had a better chance at dealing with all that was thrown at them. And at communicating. Because goodness gracious did they both jump to conclusions and make decisions without talking to one another–which usually annoys me. But it somehow fit their situation here.

I’m not always quick to like the “billionaire bad boy” in a story and have to warm up to them sometimes. In Lincoln’s case, though, I liked him right away. He had a bit of an ego but it wasn’t overbearing. Or at least I didn’t think so. He was raised differently than his brother Harrison, who *was* an entitled brat of a man, and it showed in how Lincoln took other people’s feelings into consideration. I liked him as a match for Whitney. She was creative and just looking for a way out of her small hometown. She went through quite a metamorphosis in this first book, slowly gaining confidence and figuring out it was time to stand up for herself. (Yay!!) My only sticking point with this story was how everyone in town, especially Lincoln’s family, was quick to call Whitney a whore. And I mean continuously. It was a wee bit much for me how often the term was used. Although it would make an awesome drinking game–if one was so inclined to do such a thing. 😉

Richer Than Sin was a captivating, sexy as hell, train wreck of a romance for our hero and heroine where nothing went right. Aside from their incredible attraction and honest connection, that is. And both book two and three have already been released, so don’t be alarmed that this had a cliffhanger ending. It’s SO worth it to pick this trilogy up!

From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes a brand new saga of forbidden love and second chances.

A Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after. Our family feud is the stuff of legends.
Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes.
I didn’t know or care what her name was.
Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man.
She hates me, and she should.
I objected on her wedding day.
Now she’s home, with those same long legs and man-eater stare, but there’s no ring on her finger.
They say a Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after . . . but I’m not done with Whitney Gable.
I’ll never be done with her.
