In Royally Endowed (Royally #3) by Emma Chase, When Ellie Hammond’s older sister Olivia falls in love with Prince Nicholas of Wessco, their lives change drastically. Mostly for the better. As Ellie takes care of the family bakery and finishes up high school in NYC, she finds herself suddenly surrounded by beefcakes–er, bodyguards–courtesy of the Prince. And that’s when she falls head over heels for Logan St. James. It’s not just that he’s the most ruggedly handsome guy Ellie’s ever met. Nope. It’s also that she knows without a doubt that Logan would do anything to keep her safe and would never intentionally hurt her. He proves that over the years, time and time again. But once she’s at an age where their chemistry could turn into something real, are the risks too great for both of them to give it a try?

“You need to listen to me. Do what I say from this point on, understand?”
It’s on the tip of my tongue to ask what he’ll do if I don’t. Spank me? Tie me up? Handcuff me to his side? If those are the consequences for disobeying Special Agent Sexy-Face, I’m about to become a very naughty girl.

Becoming a royal bodyguard is something Logan never really thought would happen back when he was growing up in the rough and tumble part of town. But he forged his own way, first through the military and now working for the royal family in Wessco. Being assigned to watch over cute Ellie seemed like it should be a simple enough job. But Logan realizes that she’s a spirited lass who will likely be the death of him. As much as he longs to make her his own, he knows it would put his job in jeopardy. Although there are days when he thinks it would be worth it. Once Ellie is out of college and joins her sister at the palace in Wessco, that’s when things go south. The feelings Logan’s been holding back all come rushing to the forefront and before long, he’s contemplating making some big changes in his life.

‘What I do know, what I’m sure of, is that I would die for Ellie. Kill for her, live for her… There will never be another.
I don’t know if I’ll be any fucking good at love. I’m not quite sure how it’s done. But, for her, I’ll learn.
And I’ll do my damnedest to get it right.’

A slow burn yet smokin’ hot romance with hysterical dialogue and full of utterly heartfelt moments, Royally Endowed was everything I love about Emma Chase’s writing all in one magical, fairy tale-like story.

‘For the first time since I met him, my hero looks lost, my guardian angel has a broken wing. And I want to mend him, save him the way he’s always saved me. I want to love him until he feels found.’

I was so happy to see Ellie and Logan get their much deserved HEA in this installment of the Royally series. Ellie made me giggle in previous books with her spunky attitude and her quirky personality. And honestly she was exactly like I pictured her. Fun, flirty, but surprisingly grounded and intelligent, I loved her naivety and how she held on to a sense of wonder and innocence even when being thrown into her sister Olivia’s chaotic life as a new royal. Now the timeline of this story starts off in the present day and then switches back to when Ellie and Logan first met then continues jumping forward, bit by bit, until we again reach the situation they were facing at the present time. I actually liked how Chase set this up and found it pulled me through the story, wanting to find out how Logan and Ellie found themselves in such a predicament.

Logan turned out to be a great hero and a character who I thought was very endearing. He might have had a dirty mouth and after his stint in the military, could kill a bad guy with the flick of a wrist, but he was such a good, kindhearted man. I loved that he knew right away upon meeting Ellie that he was serious about his feelings for her but he knew she was too young and needed to experience life first. Logan had a very tough childhood, being from a tough side of town, but he admirably turned it around and became a royal guard on his own and was one of the best. He did have a moment where I kind of wanted to have a “talk” with him (lol) but he quickly figured things out and was again the same loyal, brave, wonderful guy everyone had come to love.

I do have to mention that pretty much all of the previous characters made an appearance in this book and most had big parts to play in the proceedings. Yay!! It was so great to see the couples again: Olivia & Nicholas, Sarah & Henry, along with the Queen of course, but if you haven’t read the first two books–although I highly recommend them–you could probably still read this as a standalone easily enough.

Royally Endowed was an absolute blast to read. (And just look at that cover! *fans face*) I have a feeling that if you’re new to Emma Chase’s work, the charming characters and their adorable HEAs will turn you into a fan quickly.

Logan St. James is a smoldering, sexy beast. Sure, he can be a little broody at times—but Ellie Hammond’s willing to overlook that. Because, have you seen him??

Sexy. As. Hell.

And Ellie’s perky enough for both of them.

For years, she’s had a crush on the intense, gorgeous royal security guard—but she doesn’t think he ever saw her, not really.

To Logan, Ellie was just part of the job—a relative of the royal family he’d sworn to protect. Now, at 22 years old and fresh out of college, she’s determined to put aside her X-rated dreams of pat-downs and pillow talk, and find a real life happily ever after.

The Queen of Wessco encourages Ellie to follow in her sister’s footsteps and settle down with a prince of her own. Or a duke, a marquis…a viscount would also do nicely.

But in the pursuit of a fairy tale ending, Ellie learns that the sweetest crushes can be the hardest to let go.
***
Logan St. James grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, in a family on the wrong side of the law. But these days, he covers his tattoos and scars with a respectable suit. He’s handsome, loyal, brave, skilled with his hands and…other body parts.

Any woman would be proud to call him hers.

But there’s only one woman he wants.

For years he’s watched over her, protected her, held her hair back when she was sick, taught her how to throw a punch, and spot a liar.

He dreams of her. Would lay down his life for her.

But beautiful Ellie Hammond’s off-limits.

Everybody knows the bodyguard rules: Never lose focus, never let them out of your sight, and never, ever fall in love.

Thank you! I know you’ve been a fan of this series right along as well so I have a feeling you’ll get a kick out of this book. I’m totally with you…what is it about those bad boys with golden hearts that is so dreamy? lol 😉

I tried reading the first book in this series, and it just wasn’t working for me. It might have been my mood at the time. But I have to say I am really interested in this one. Logan soooo sounds like my kind of hero. Although it might be best to read this series in order, I’m seriously thinking of just jumping in with this one.

    Lovely Review!

Thanks! Each book, to me at least, has had it’s own distinct feel to it so this one might be a better fit. I think you’d be fine reading it as a standalone as so much of the past is covered through this couple’s journey. And Logan. Oh my goodness. He was one broody, honorable, sexy guy. Yep…

  3. Sharlene Wegner

I have the other books & plan to read them all in order once I get this one. And all of the covers are HOT! The first one may be my favorite. Thanks for the great review!

Thanks, Sharlene! I think you’re going to have a blast with this series. Each couple is so interesting all on their own, but as a group the dynamics are crazy-fun! And those covers… *fans face again* Makes you want to just keep flipping back to it throughout the story to “remind” yourself what the hero looks like. lol! 😉

    • Michele H

Yeah, I think the covers might be the, um, selling point for a lot of readers. 😉 But thank goodness the stories are more than worth the time as well. Emma Chase has a habit of playing catch up with past characters in her seriously charming epilogues. I love how she does that!
