REVIEW: Save Your Breath by Melinda Leigh

Melinda Leigh thrills her reading audience with her latest book. Save Your Breath is the sixth book in her Morgan Dane series. She writes such great thrillers and this book is no exception. There are twists, turns, surprises and “Oh Mys!” galore. The action is non-stop. This is definitely an “I can’t put this book down.” story.

She’s in love with him. He’s in love with her. Maybe! True crime writer Olivia Cruz and PI Lincoln Sharp have been seeing each other for a few months. Both are very independent people so they are taking their relationship one step at a time. Then Olivia is kidnapped. They both rethink their slower steps now. Lincoln becomes an obsessed man. He must save Olivia. Fortunately his fellow PI, Lance Kruger and defense attorney, Morgan Dane are there to help. Clues at Olivia’s house are sparse so Lincoln, Lance and Morgan have a lot of digging into Olivia’s latest book research to do. Add to that interviewing the people associated with the cases Olivia is looking into and you have long days and nights with little sleep. That’s the way it has to be. They all know that every day a kidnap victim is missing increases the chances the victim won’t be found alive.

Leigh’s readers are familiar with the main characters and she stays true to their known personalities in this book. This is a rather intense read with criminals and a number of deaths/murders. Every scene this author writes adds to the storyline so these incidents are necessary for the storyline to be complete. There are light moments too especially with the scenes including Morgan’s daughters. One such scene really made me smile. Lance takes the girls Halloween costume shopping. I don’t think he was prepared for that particular experience. LOL. Readers who enjoy thrillers with lots of action and suspense will enjoy Melinda Leigh’s latest Morgan Dane book.
