Secretly Hers by Jamie Beck: Kelsey is determined to have a very successful career in real Secretly-Hersestate since she’s been unable to achieve her lifelong dream of being a wife and mother. She doesn’t understand what she’s doing wrong to be unable to find a man who wants to make that type of commitment.

Trip is the complete opposite of Kelsey as he’s a confirmed bachelor and quite the playboy. With his childhood, he doesn’t believe in the institution of marriage. He’s happy to have settled in Sterling Canyon and looking forward to be a partner in an outdoor adventure company with one of his good friends.

Trip and Kelsey have been acquaintances for a while now, but neither have acted on the attraction simmering between them. Kelsey is looking for love and commitment, so she plans to avoid the temptation Trip presents as that would almost guarantee a broken heart. When Trip bets that he can help her to find a man, their relationship finally turns into more.

“In fact, I’m so sure I’m right, I’d even be willing to make a bet.”
“A bet?” She tapped her fingers against her bicep.
“Yep.”
“I get to name the prize?” One corner of her mouth lifted.

Their seemingly straightforward bet becomes much more complicated when Trip’s half-brother comes to town and shows an interest in Kelsey. Trip and Kelsey’s hot fling is then challenged in a whole new way, beyond their differing views of their futures, in spite of their growing feelings. Trip is surprisingly sweet, generous, and thoughtful given his reputation.

“Until the other week, we’d been good together. If we’re both being totally honest, our little no-strings bargain developed into something deeper, even if we didn’t admit it to each other because of doubts or egos.”
“Considerable ego on your part,” she teased.
“To match my considerable charm.”

Secretly Her is an entertaining opposites attract romance. Jamie Beck created interesting characters with good banter. Ms. Beck provided a scene stealer in Kelsey’s adorable niece. Secretly Hers can be read as a standalone book in the series. Fans of Tracy Solheim and Amanda Ashby will enjoy Secretly Hers.
