Seduction Game by Pamela Clare: CIA officer Nick Andris is trailing Holly Bradshaw, Seduction-Gamehoping to get information about the man who murdered the woman he loved. His boss tells him she has information about him so he moves in next door and starts spying on her to find out what she knows. He comes to the conclusion that she’s an entertainment reporter for a newspaper but she’s not too intelligent. Nick questions why his boss believes she would possibly have information on Sasha Dudayev, because all she could possibly be is arm candy for the man.

Holly Bradshaw has a secret she’s keeping from everyone–she’s in the Agency as well, although in a different division than Nick. Her job was to retrieve information from Dudayev, information she was told was stolen. Nick, not knowing this, kidnaps Holly in an effort to get her to disclose where she hid the information. Only when Nick discovers her real reason for being with Dudayev, something doesn’t add up. Someone is sending them both on a wild goose chase, and that someone is determined to see them both dead.

I liked Holly. She’s a strong, independent woman who had been through a lot in her life. Instead of revealing her job to her friends, she allows them to think that she dates a lot of men and is easy. Even though it hurts her to have them think of her that way, she wants to keep the truth from them to keep them safe. When Nick kidnaps her, interrogates her, and treats her like a criminal, she still stood her ground. And despite being angry with Nick, she works with him to uncover the truth as they try to stay one step ahead of their potential murders.

I also liked Nick. The man had to watch as Dudayev walked up to the woman he loved and killed her. Two years later he’s still carrying around the guilt of not being able to save her. He also had to deal with the fact that someone was determined to see him dead, and that someone could possibly be someone he knew, trusted, and respected. Once he discovers who Holly truly was, he feels bad for the way he treated her and sets out to make things right with her, all while trying to figure out how to keep them alive.

There were plenty of twists and turns in this book. Once it’s uncovered who the culprit is, it’s revealed that there’s a second person involved. The author keeps you guessing as to who that person is. It’s never quite clear who exactly Nick and Holly could trust, other than Holly’s friends.

While this is the seventh book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. Holly’s friends– who play a large part in this book–are featured in the previous books, but this is written in a way that doesn’t make you feel like you’re missing a lot if you haven’t read them. There are some references to situations that occurred in the other books, but they didn’t distract from the main focus of this one.

Seduction Game is a fast-paced, action pack story that will have guessing as to what’s going on, who the bad guys are, and why Nick and Holly are being targeted. This is one of the best romantic suspense novels that I’ve read recently. It was my first time reading a book by Pamela Clare, but I will definitely be going back to check out the other books in the series.

CIA officer Nick Andris wants revenge. His last mission failed after a Georgian arms smuggler killed his lover. He’s been tailing a woman for three weeks hoping she will lead him to his target. But there’s a problem with the intel. Holly Elise Bradshaw is nothing more than an entertainment writer with a love for sex and designer clothes. Clearly someone at Langley made a mistake . . .

When Holly finds herself in trouble, the only weapons at her disposal are her brains and her body. But they won’t be enough to handle the man who’s following her. He’s going to turn her world upside-down.

Wonderful review Stacey. I really want to read this. Not only because I love the genre, but also as I haven’t read a Pamela Clare book in ages.
