REVIEW: Shoot the Moon by Jani Kay

Shoot the Moon by Jani Kay, the sixth book in the Scorpio Stinger MC series, is Razor and Lexi’s story. Razor has made no secret he wants to be with Lexi, only Lexi is too busy pining after Ryder, the VP of the club and her cousin Jade’s fiancé, to notice. When Lexi loses a bet and is forced to spend time with Razor, will she decide he’s who she really wants?

I’ll start off saying I didn’t like Lexi at all in the beginning. I found her selfish and childish. She tries to get Jade to hook up with someone else Ryder will dump her and come crawling into her arms. Her plan backfires, but the fact she would want to ruin her cousin’s relationship with Ryder for her own gain didn’t gain her any points in my eyes. As the story progresses and we learn a little more about her past, my feelings toward her thawed. Throughout the book she grows from being someone who only cares about her wants and needs to someone who cares about others and takes responsibility for her actions.

Razor. I loved him. He’s a tough guy who, despite the things he’s done for the club, has a good heart. At times I wondered why, with all her antics, he didn’t just give up on Lexi. I’m glad he stuck with her though. He was extremely patient, biding his time until Lexi was ready to come to her senses. He, too, grows in this book. He finally takes a stand and shows that he’s capable of taking a leadership role within the club.

While this can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the other books in the series first to have a better understanding of the characters and their relationships with one another.

If you’re looking for a MC read, the Scorpio Stinger series is a good one. *

Razor has some heavy boots to fill. He’s always lived in the shadow of his brothers and he’s sick of it.
Lexi is wild and out of control. She won’t be told what to do and she has a filthy mouth that’s gotten her into more trouble than she can admit.
He wants her from the first moment he lays eyes on her.
She only has eyes for another man she can’t have.
He’s determined to claim her and make her his.
She fights him tooth and nail.

Is Razor the one man who can tame her and make her his?
