Intrigued, Luka agrees to Sophie’s outrageous proposal—one glimpse of the feisty spirit simmering behind her cool exterior and he believes this engagement charade could be pleasurable. Can their fake romance turn into a real one?
Sicilian’s Shock Proposal by Carol Marinelli was a well written romance more on the lines of second chance than revenge trope. Luka is a self made man who has worked hard to get away from the shadows of his father. I liked him and had no problem in understanding his motives.Plus he had a good character growth throughout the book unlike Sophie who was stuck at the same place. She was a strong, feisty woman and a loyal daughter and I liked her but I wish she was not so much stuck up and there was some growth in her characterization. The main characters share a very complicated history due to their family connection. Their backstory explanation took over the focus from the romance quite often.
