In Socialite’s Gamble by Michelle Conder, Cara Chatsfield is given the task to play hostess at The Chatsfield’s world-famous poker tournament by the new CEO. Cara has always been the darling of the party scene and one of the 22021138most favorite topic of the gossip column. But behind the glitz and glamour, there is a different girl than the world knows her.

Aidan Kelly detests women like Cara, but when his biggest rival includes Cara in the stakes, Aidan must win—and not just for her protection! But getting to know the stunning socialite, he discovers a beautiful, vulnerable young woman awoken by his own personal brand of passion!

Socialite’s Gamble by Michelle Condor is a well written sexy romance with loads of glamour as the blurb suggests. I loved reading the story and the situations the author put Cara and Aiden in. The first meeting was an absolute winner and it set the pace of the story.

Aiden Kelly is a sexy hero who has acquired success by his own hard work. He is out for revenge and is attending the poker tournament to destroy his biggest rival. I loved how his perception about Revenge changes during the course of the book and he finally understands in letting the past go. Cara is a super sensitive and emotional heroine. She has her own set of baggage to deal with and I think that is the reason she was so emotional throughout the book. During the end she does take the charge of her life and that was commendable. The characters show an amazing chemistry to make the romance believable and passionate.

The way Cara is included in the poker bet to be wagered off to the winner did not sit right with me because you just can’t gamble off a woman. Cara’s reaction on learning she was about to be gambled off was even more unbelievable. As this incident is the turning point of the story, it could have been more realistic.

Overall, Socialite’s Gamble by Michelle Condor is a well written romance for everyone who loves romance with a little glamour.
