Still Into You by Erin Connor: Sloane has built her career on chasing stories…not reliving them. As a respected music journalist she has learned how to keep her cool backstage, how to ask the hard questions and most importantly how to keep her heart out of the headlines! But when she’s offered the exclusive interview of the year with legendary metal band Final Revelations, she doesn’t expect the real story to be waiting in the green room. Enter Dax the magnetic frontman, lyrical genius and the boy she once loved… Dax is no longer just a memory that she tucked away with old ticket stubs and half-written journal entries… nope he is standing right in front of her, older, more guarded and still far too capable of making her pulse race. As past and present collide under stage lights and city skylines Sloane and Dax are forced to confront the choices that pulled them apart and the feelings that never quite faded. Because sometimes the hardest story to tell is your own…

Still Into You was exactly what I want from a second-chance romance, filled with emotional depth, undeniable chemistry and a story that feels both nostalgic and mature. From the opening chapters, I was completely drawn into Sloane and Dax’s shared history, layered with ambition, missed timing and unresolved feelings that never truly faded these two had me flipping the pages hoping they would finally find their way back to each other. I have to say that I found myself just loving the dynamic between music journalist and rockstar, it added an extra layer of closeness and tension that could be felt in every interaction.

One of the strongest elements of this book was how layered and believable Sloane and Dax felt. Sloane was ambitious and quietly guarded, having built a career that proves she was more than someone’s almost-love story, yet there was a softness beneath her professionalism that makes her deeply relatable. Dax on the other hand carried his fame with a magnetic intensity but it was his restraint and underlying regret that truly add depth. He felt like a man who has grown, who understands what he lost and wasn’t entirely sure he deserved another chance. This only made me love getting to watch each of their moments slowly bloom into a chance for happiness.

For me what made Sloane and Dax work so beautifully was that their chemistry wasn’t just physical, yes they definitely did have some steamy moments but it was their shared history, mutual respect and emotional understanding that truly stole my heart. Another thing that I really liked about this couple was the ease between them that came from having known each other before the fame, before the ambition and before life complicated everything. I loved that their old spark was still very much alive but this time around they were both more mature, more sure and more ready to put in the hard work.

Overall I loved reading Still Into You this was a beautifully written second-chance love story that beautifully captures that bittersweet ache of timing, ambition and unfinished love, while still delivering moments that feel tender and hopeful. A definite must read for me!

Bad-boy-turned-straight-edge frontman, Dax Nakamura, would prefer the skeletons in his closet to stay there, thank you very much. But not giving interviews didn’t stop the press from writing about one of metal’s biggest bands—or its lead vocalist. With their new album about to drop, Dax is finally ready to address the rumors that have plagued Final Revelations for the past eight years. And the only person he trusts to write it is the same person who broke his heart three summers ago.

Sloane Donavan knew she wanted to write about music since the first time she posted a MySpace blog for her neighbor’s garage band. A journalism degree, a failed internship, and countless backstage passes later, Sloane still hasn’t secured the dream job she left her dream man behind for. So when Dax shows back up with a career-making opportunity—exclusive insight into him, his band, and the chance to craft the narrative of one of the scene’s most revered bands—Sloane agrees, with one No one can know they’re exes. As they dive into Dax’s past, Sloane quickly realizes their history isn’t the only thing he’s hiding, and Sloane has a choice to make. The article Dax wants and the salacious tell-all Sloane’s editor expects are two completely different stories. This is the big break she’s been waiting for, but it comes with a the chance to rewrite the ending with her first and only love.

Music journalist and a metal frontman? Yes, please! The tension between their professional roles and their shared history sounds so well-written. I love a good second-chance romance where both characters have actually grown during their time apart. Thanks for sharing this, Sara—added to my list!
