Surprise Baby, Second Chance by Therese Beharrie: Too scared to move forward, not strong enough to regret the past, the problem: the current state of unknown.

Rosa Lang Spencer knew she had to do something she couldn’t leave everything where it was in the current state of unknown. It just wasn’t fair. She just wasn’t sure what to do or if she was strong enough to do it. Her husband deserved so much better though.

Aaron Spencer just wanted answers. What had caused his wife to walk out? What were the plans? Would she come back? Would she call? What was going on? Could he handle what the future held?

In walks a meddling momma, a small island and a storm, the perfect storm? One weekend will change everything, again.

Surprise Baby, Second Chance was an unfortunate read. While Ms. Beharrie usually gives her readers a wonderful romance this novel was difficult at best. There were frequent flashbacks without warning so the reader had to go back and figure out where they were in time. While it is “nice” to have damaged characters, these two just don’t make sense. They go overboard on the damage without explanation or resolution of any of the damage. It’s hard to connect with them even to “like” them. This was definitely not one of her best works.
