In Sweet Filthy Boy (Wild Seasons #1) by Christina Lauren, What happens when Mia Holland and her best friends Lola and Harlow head to Vegas for a wild weekend after graduating college? Utter mayhem. But for Mia, it is also one of the most fun and life changing weekends of her life. Because in Vegas she meets Ansel Guillaume, a stunningly SFB2charismatic Frenchman who has the ability to make her laugh and carry on a full conversation, even with his goofy friends Finn and Oliver around.

“We’re doing everything backwards,” I whisper.
Taking a small step closer, he says, “I need to seduce you all over again, then.”
Oh, the flutters. “You do?”
His smile curls up, dangerous. “I want you in my bed tonight. Naked beneath me.”

After their drunken night of sexy goodness, Mia is stunned when Ansel asks her to accompany him back to Paris. She declines until she realizes this is the opportunity of a lifetime. Graduate school will still be waiting in Boston at the end of the summer, so Mia takes a chance on Ansel. The rocky start they have initially gives way to an intimacy neither of them were expecting. As Mia’s time in Paris draws to an end, will she be able to walk away from the man who has managed to steal her heart with his dirty mouth and kind ways?

‘Our time together is almost over, too. How can I possibly be away from him in only a couple of weeks? What are we going to do?’

Sweet Filthy Boy? You got that right! What a way to start off the new Wild Seasons series with a bang. (Pun intended) Be prepared to swoon over Ansel, cheer for Mia as she becomes more confident in herself, and learn some dirty French phrases. You never know…they might come in handy some day. 😉

The powerhouse writing duo that is Christina Lauren has done it again with this new romance series which borders on the New Adult genre. Mixing humor, self-realization, love, and passion, we get a crazy hot love affair that spans two continents. All of the characters, I thought, really held their own, playing perfectly against each other. I loved the straightforward frankness portrayed, especially with Mia’s best friends Harlow and Lola. They’re the kind of girlfriends I think we all want in our lives–brutally honest but with only the best of intentions. And their conversations together were absolutely hysterical. Definitely don’t forget about those two gals, or even Ansel’s buddies Finn and Oliver, as it looks like they will be getting their chance to shine in the upcoming sequels.

I really, really liked Mia and Ansel together as a couple. He was the only one who was able to get her out of her shell and fully engage her in conversation, but the way he did it with flirting and being sweet & funny was so sigh worthy. I wanted to melt into a puddle of happiness with how cute Ansel was around Mia. And their chemistry together was explosive. Seriously, their love scenes were so sexy, filled with his dirty talk and her becoming aware of the power she held with him in the bedroom…c’est magnifique! There is so much I can’t discuss about their story without giving away key plot points. (Sorry ladies) But suffice it to say that both Mia and Ansel have things to work out within themselves while they are also learning about each other on their crazy whirlwind summer in Paris. Just know that it all works out in the end.

Whether or not you’re already a Christina Lauren fan, I think you’ll enjoy Sweet Filthy Boy. It’s hot and heavy, witty and comical, and will make you want to fall for a charming French guy just like Ansel, too.
