In Taking Him Down by Meg Maguire, Matchmaker and former Wedding Planner Lindsey Tuttle is in love. It all started with some heavy, innocent office flirting, and an erotic kiss in the back seat of a cab, after Rich Estrada’s win of a MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) bout. While kissing, Rich receives a text and their kiss as well as any future time together come THDto an abrupt halt. Rich leaves for the West Coast a short time later to train for his next fight, while Lindsey and her magic lips remain fresh in his memory. Lindsey is just sad, playing the kiss over and over in her mind, wondering what the text said that caused Rich to stop.

Lindsey and her now ex-fiance Brett, moved to Boston to further Brett’s career as an attorney. Their relationship began in their teens and is now finally over, after a past year or so of breaking-up and reconciling. Until Lindsey can afford her own place, she remains living with Brett in a somewhat stressful environment. Living with Brett affords her no privacy, and when her younger sister comes to stay for the summer, the need to find her own place jumps to the top of her priority list.

Lindsey works for Jenna Wilinski’s matchmaker service, and she really enjoys her job in addition to Jenna’s friendship. Jenna owns the building and her fiance Mercer, a MMA fighter, runs the gym and training facility in the building. Rich has been around the gym all of his life, receiving training in exchange for doing odd jobs as a teenager. Fighting is in his blood. Rich and Mercer are both hot, sexy men that are serious fighters.

Ten months after Lindsey’s and Rich’s unforgettable kiss, Rich returns home to recuperate after breaking his foot in a championship match, which he won. Now he is semi-famous, bringing people into the gym by his name alone, and happy to be back home. However, his injury causes him constant worry about his future as a fighter and as a provider for both his mother and sister. Once again, sparks ignite between Lindsey and Rich and this time, nothing gets in their way of being together. They share not only themselves, but their feelings, ideologies and dreams. However, their bliss is only temporary because once Rich heals, he will return to the West Coast for training.

Luckily, Rich realizes that his love for Lindsey, his family and the gym supersede a life of loneliness on the road.

Taking Him Down by Meg Maguire is the perfect summer read. It has just enough plot, spice and emotion to keep you on your toes and engaged while lounging by the pool.

I like the matchmaker profession, but not so much the professional fighter! The love story sounds really good, though! Thanks for the review!
