REVIEW: Tender Kisses by Sheryl Lister

Tender Kisses by Sheryl Lister will grab your attention with its well-written words and fully developed characters, who may leave you breathless while they embark on an engaging romance despite their reservations.

Siobhan Gray is a public relations goddess for her family’s company. Gray Home Safety is very successful and many men have tried to get in her good graces just to get a piece of the company. In fact, one man actually came pretty close until Siobhan discovered how low down and dirty her fiancée was and called off the wedding before it was too late. Because of that life lesson, she doesn’t date. She holds herself away from life and concentrates on work. She’s gun shy about getting into another relationship and refuses to let herself and her family down over a man again. When she meets Justin Cartwright, the sparks are there but in the back of her mind, she knows she can’t risk her heart again.

Justin is innovative, seductive, and very persistent. He knew he wanted Siobhan from the moment he saw her and he wasn’t taking no for an answer. It took some time, but eventually he got Siobhan to lower some of her walls and meet with him for coffee, then dinner and so on, until a relationship developed. Their relationship was a slow burn since both Justin and Siobhan are workaholics and each have their own reasons for wanting to stay casual.

“He was falling for this woman and wasn’t sure a casual, no-strings-attached relationship was really what he wanted anymore.”

The more they saw each other, the hotter the chemistry became, but career aspirations have put the relationship in a tight spot. Justin has developed an alert system that any company would love to back, but Justin is after Gray Home Safety and neither he nor Siobhan realize what a small world it is, especially since Siobhan never gave Justin her real last name. Misunderstandings happen and their relationship is threatened, but don’t worry a happy ending is at the end of the horizon for these two, it’s just going to take some communication and a lot of trust.

I really enjoyed reading about Siobhan and Justin’s relationship and thought the romance was very nicely done. I’m looking forward to more books about the Gray family in the future. Fans of Brenda Jackson would enjoy checking this book out.
