The Baby Who Saved Christmas by Alison Roberts: Christmas time is the time miracles. It’s a time when love can blossom and pain can heal, if you only allow it.
Alice McMillan knew about pain. She had just lost all of her family, not that it had been much to start with, but now her grandmother and her mother were gone and she wasn’t quite ready to start the new year alone. So she was going searching. She was off to find her biological father and maybe, just maybe have a connection there.
Julian Dubois knew loss, and knew he didn’t have the heart to lose again. So when his sister’s husband died it was time to collect his nephew and set him up with his grandmother. That way his heart wouldn’t get attached and he would still have some family left. After all he was busy, he had his career to think about, right?
This Alice has certainly fallen down the well and life will never be the same. Julian on the other hand isn’t quite sure what sledge hammer hit him, but Christmas lights make everything shine just a little bit brighter.
Ms. Roberts takes her readers on an interesting journey with this novel. She doesn’t spare detail and her plot moves quickly, in some ways it actually moves just a bit too quickly. Her characters are likeable and you get a bit of a surface bio for them.
The Baby Who Saved Christmas by Alison Roberts is a sweet quickly flowing read that helps to prove that people are more than the surface picture they present.
