The Boyfriend Candidate by Ashley Winstead: There is absolutely nothing worse than to have your bedroom skills critiqued and for Alexis Stone being called meek and boring in the sack is one straw to many, which is how she finds herself one a mission to reinvent herself starting with a wild crazy and out of character one night stand with a total stranger! Que in the gorgeous loud mouth stranger at the hotel bar, really Alexis polar opposite but the perfect guy to have a dirty wild night with, to bad things go south just as Alexis and Logan are about to head to the rooms, when a freak lightning storm hits the hotel staring a fire, leaving Logan and Alexis to flea for their safety only to be meet with a barrage of flashing lights, which prompts Logan to hightail it out of there!

Turns out Alexis wild night guy is non other than Logan Arthur the new candidate running for the Texas governor’s seat and their little late night photo shoot might just tank his chances of getting into office… Looks like the only way out of this mess is to pretend to be an item… well until election day that is, what could possibly go wrong?

LOVED!!! Oh my goodness The Boyfriend Candidate was just brilliant, I loved this book big time. It has been a while since I have read a politically set romance and actually really enjoyed it, but with this book it was impossible not to get drawn in to all the hilarious antics as Alexis and Logan tired to fake their way for the public while trying to figure out the very real attraction building between them. This book was a great mix of laugh out loud funny mixed in with a very believable storyline and characters that will steal your heart.

I really liked Alexis, she was my kind of girl. Trying to strike out and find a new kind of normal after having her heart smashed by her no good cheater boyfriend. I really liked getting to see her character step out of her comfort zone as this quiet librarian and taking on the spotlight that comes with being with Logan. Even thought she was shy in general I liked that she spoke up when needed and for what she believed in. I really liked her relationship with her sister Lee, these two made such a great support system for each other.

It was impossible not to love Logan, this guy was a total charmer and he just stole my heart. Firstly I was a total sucker for his British accent and add in the face that the guy has a heart of gold and I was totally sold on him. More than this I just loved that he couldn’t help but fall for our girl Alexis as they prance around as a fake couple. Though I will say that I would have like to have been able to read bit of this book from Logan’s perspective.
I love a good slow burn romance and this is definitely what we get with Alexis and Logan but good gosh is it worth the wait! These two were so perfect for each other and the steam they bring to this book was top notch! All I’m going to say is that scene in the library! You will know when you read it! As side from some sparky chemistry, I loved the fact that Logan made it a point to show Alexis that she was perfect just the way she was, that she was a main character and not to let anyone say otherwise. This was a total swoon moment.

The Boyfriend Candidate was one of the best fake-dating , political romance novels that I have read. Not only will it have you swooning at this couple but it has loads of amazing supporting characters to make this an even better read. Most defiantly a must read!

As a shy school librarian, Alexis Stone is comfortable keeping out of the spotlight. But when she’s dumped for being too meek—in bed!—the humiliation is a wake-up call. She decides she needs to change, and what better way to kick-start her new more adventurous life than with her first one-night stand?

Enter Logan, the gorgeous, foul-mouthed stranger she meets at a hotel bar. Logan is audacious and filterless, making him Alexis’s opposite—and boy, do opposites attract! Just as she’s about to fulfill her hookup wish, the hotel catches fire in a freak lightning storm—and in their rush to escape, Logan is discovered carrying her into the street, where people are waiting with cameras. Cameras Logan promptly—and shockingly—flees.

Alexis is bewildered until breaking news hits: pictures of her and Logan escaping the fire are all over the internet. It turns out Logan is none other than Logan Arthur, the hotshot politician challenging the Texas governor’s seat. The salacious images are poised to sink his career—and jeopardize Alexis’s job—until a solution is proposed: to squash the scandal, he and Alexis could pretend to be in a relationship until election day…in two months. What could possibly go wrong?
