REVIEW: The Cost of Cinderella’s Confession by Julia James

The Cost of Cinderella’s Confession is Julia James dramatic and emotional new release for the new year… and what a way to start the year with a bang!

Marching up the aisle demanding a halt to the wedding in progress is not going to win Ariana any friends. Her Grandfather is spitting tacks. Her cousin – the bride – is frozen. The groom is granite. Announcing to the world she is pregnant with Luca’s child certainly has a ripple effect. Bolting from the church, thinking her job is done, the last thing she expects is Luca to catch up to her and demand an explanation to her lies and the solid promise he will ruin her!

If I could describe the intensity of this story I would say it has retro vibes. Back in the day when the hero was going to tear everyone and everything in his path a new one on his driven desire for revenge; that’s how Luca made me feel and I loved it. I love the “I’m going to ruin her” vibes. It creates drama and friction that lines up Luca and Ariana for some explosive incidents. And boy does Luca come in strong. Ariana ruined Luca’s plans in so many ways but I love that he has absolutely no idea what fate has in store for him.

Passionate memories of an amazing night, financial ruin, family loyalty, misunderstandings and revenge weave their way through this delightful story. Ariana was amazing. The taming of Luca was fabulous. I really enjoyed it, especially the journey of Luca. Ariana was his absolute perfect match – the one woman he did not want to want. Together they lit up the world. And then just when you think the path is sorted… tragedy strikes!

Really, really enjoyed The Cost of Cinderella’s Confession and I absolutely love the front cover.

It takes all Ariana Killane’s courage to stand up at her cousin’s wedding and confess—one night with the groom, Luca Farnese, left her pregnant! She knows the lie will incur the billionaire’s wrath. Still, it’s the only way to help her cousin escape the unwanted marriage…

Luca is utterly outraged! Ariana will face the consequences for ruining his perfect plans. But going toe-to-toe with her is a wild, uncontrollable ride. Because as much as Luca’s head seeks revenge, his body calls for the one place he and Ariana appear to agree…in his bed.
