The-Forbidden-PrinceThe Forbidden Prince by Alison Roberts: When nothing in your life has been as it should you start to rely on yourself and only on yourself. However what happens when there is someone who starts to change that?

Tamika, Mika, Gordon had been on her own since she was basically 5 years old. She knew she could only rely on herself. She was choosing her way and while it may be more difficult it made her achievements all the more special. It was truly a wonderful life she was leading, even if it had her scary moments. Some of those still haunted her but they made her stronger and made her who she was.

Raoul de Poitier knew it was only a matter of time before he had to claim his title and become the man, the king, everyone wanted him to be. Was it wrong that he just wanted, no needed, some time to figure things out. To live a little bit before becoming who everyone needed him to be? So he took off and became invisible just for a little while.

At least that was the plan, until Raoul saved Mika then it seems all plans were off. As these two fall into one another’s lives the future looks even more uncertain than before.

The first thing I have to say about this novel is that it is incredibly well written. The words flow as a steady stream moves towards the sea. Unfortunately I could not get into the plot. It was very unbelievable and at points very unreal. While I enjoyed the style and the wording choices the storyline couldn’t hook or keep me. It is a story of a damaged young woman and a “hidden” prince.
