REVIEW: The Prince’s Pregnant Secretary by Emmy Grayson

The Prince’s Pregnant Secretary by Emmy Grayson is a lovely story with two incredibly independent characters finding their way when they become unexpectedly pregnant.

Prince Alaric and his secretary (E.A actually haha) Clara share a close bond and one night become intimately close. When Clara becomes pregnant Alaric’s solution is marriage. Clara doesn’t think such extreme measures should apply but Alaric is determined his child and eventual heir to the throne will be treated with all the respect he/she deserves and not experience a childhood like his.

I really liked Clara and Alaric. The author explained their backstories well and how that fitted into their way of thinking. I really liked the slow-burn of love between the two. There was an accurate description in the book which was the observation that perhaps they had been mistaking their professionalism and respect for each other as something else. The cover is stunning and the pivotal moment when Alaric banished Clara was emotive and heart-breaking. The story was wrapped up beautifully, I had no doubt for their love of each other and it it was lovely characters of book 1 made an appearance.

I really enjoy Emmy Grayson’s way of writing. There’s exciting dialogue, terrible families, beautiful locations and strong female leads along with emotive pivotal moments. I really liked Book two of the Van Ambrose Royals and I look forward to future stories by Emmy Grayson.
