As he sets out to prove her deception he finds that Sophie is indeed hiding something but all is not as it appears on the surface. It seems that someone from Sophie’s past wishes to harm her and Patrick has vowed to keep her safe.Sophie is not what she seems, on the surface she is a beautiful, confident, socialite, who lights up the ballroom’s of London turning heads where ever she goes but on the inside Sophie is deeply afraid that someone will find out about her secret past. As Patrick pursues her she is afraid that he can see through her facade and she doesn’t trust him. As trust slowly builds between the two it is Patrick that Sophie turns to when danger strikes in the middle of the night.
As Patrick and Sophie begin to see more of one another their attraction to one another grows and turns in to the romance of the season. With danger lurking around the corner for Sophie will their love be able to flourish and grow?

I found The Reluctant Countess to be a highly entertaining read that kept me up burning the midnight oil. I fell in love with Patrick and Sophie as well as all of the secondary characters. The story moved at a fast pace, the love scenes were scorching hot, and the romance tender and sweet.
