The Singles Table by Sara Desai: Where better than at a wedding to find your very own happily ever after, this is extremely what lawyer Zara Patel thinks only just not for when it comes to herself. After having her heart crushed Zara is done with putting her heart on the line, but being a true romantic at heart she can’t help but want to help her friends find their perfect matches. Being some what of a little match maker Zara has never found a single that she could not help on their path to ever after that is until she meets Jay Donovan.

Former military man Jay has absolutely no time for love, romance or any of the drama that comes along with it, but with his mother pilling on the pressure to settle down Jay has to think of creative way to get her off his back, which is how he finds himself getting tangled up with the wild, crazy and full of life Zara! Just maybe they can help each other out with getting Jay’s mother to chill and for Zara to find a few more celebrity clients. However the last thing Jay expected was to feel so drawn to Zara or for her to shoot him in the ass with a paintball!

Right from the title this book had me itching to dive right in and let me just tell you that Sara Desai has not disappointed with this super cute fun filled romcom. The Marriage Games series has been an absolute treat to read with how real and relatable each of Desai’s characters have been and I can easily say that Zara and Jay have been my favorite couple to date!

Zara was such a hilariously cute lead female character with her over the top and lively nature, I absolutely loved that she was such an extrovert and did not shy away from being the life of the party. But gosh this girl was a catastrophe waiting to happen and this only made her all the more loveable! I loved her over the top love for Broadway and celebs, she has to have been one of the most likeable and chilled characters from this series. Also how can you not love her when she genuinely just wanted everyone to be happy?

Now for our hero Jay, its pretty hard not to love this guy with his whole grouchy former Air Force, serious vibes. I really liked that Jay had a softer side and that we got to see him deal with his PTSD and most importantly that he did not shy away from admitting that he had faced this mental health issue. I absolutely adored the relationship that he had with his mother and that he was so protective of her. I really enjoyed getting to see Jay and Zara spending time together. As far as enemies to lovers romances go these two played the part down to a T! I loved that ultimately it was Zara’s over the time, loud and proud nature that Jay fell for.

One of the things that make The Marriage Games series so fun to read is the fact that family plays such a huge role throughout the novel and that Desai held true to the nature of a Desi family in real life! I loved each and every meddling aunty, pushy mother and all the traditional ceremonies. The Singles Table is the perfect example of what makes South Asian festivities and weddings so fun and entertaining! There is little to no drama in this book which allows you to fully get caught up in a cute opposites attract story.

I would most definitely recommend reading The Singles Table, this book can be read as a stand alone but I would recommend reading the entire series, purely because they have all been amazing books!
