The Wedding Audition (Runaway Brides #1) by Joanne Rock and Catherine Mann: Two people with cameras all over them just want to hide out from The-Wedding-Auditionthe world. Can they make that happen in small town Alabama?

Annamae Jessup wasn’t sure about her life any more all she knew was that her world was suffocating her and she couldn’t do it any longer so she wasn’t going to be the good girl any more. Before she even knew what she was doing her wedding to the “golden boy” was off, her title of “golden girl” was blown and she was buying burn phones and heading to family she only just found out she had. Oh and did I mention she had no idea what she was doing?

Wynn Rafferty AKA Heath Lambert was hiding, that much was clear. He knew it was from the bad guys, but from the outside he could have been hiding from the bad or the good. He was counting down though, he only had a month left then he could go back to Miami put away the bad guys and figure out what he was going to do next with his life.

When Annamae lands in Heath’s front yard looking for a place to rent neither of them understand the baggage they are both bringing to one another. They both realize something is there though. Lust, love or confusion only time will tell. Between the bad guys and the TV cameras will they have the time to find out?

Ms. Rock and Ms. Mann have teamed up for one heck of a story, complete with romance, suspense and actual plot this is a quick moving novella that is certain to keep you flipping pages till the big sigh at the end. They squeezed a lot in so there wasn’t a ton of time for background on the characters and I would have loved to read more about the past and their shaping but there is enough to make you fall in love with, get frustrated at and be happy for these two. Make sure you are ready for this fast paced story and know sometimes you have to trust your gut.

The tabloids call her the Hit and Run Bride after reality show star Annamae Jessup walked out on Atlanta’s favorite baseball player on cable television. Eager to escape her notoriety, Annamae takes a road trip to find the grandmother she’s never met and winds up discovering a whole lot more than a band of back woods relatives. There’s no escape from reality TV, even in Beulah, Alabama, population 3000.

The last thing Wynn Rafferty needs in his new life is a spoiled television princess who can’t even know his real name. He’s in temporary witness protection as an apple farmer after his undercover work put his life in danger. He needs to lay low until the heat dies down from his last case— even if he sucks at growing apples as badly as he sucks at relationships. But Annamae turns his new town into a media circus, unwittingly threatening the lives of him, her and most of Beulah. Wynn is an expert at keeping the world at arm’s length, but when it comes to Annamae, the only way he can keep her safe is to keep her very, very close.
