Truly, Madly, Deeply by Erika Kelly: Your wedding day is supposed to be a happy day, but for Grace Giordano it is turning out to be a total nightmare when she learns that the man she is about to tie herself to for the rest of her life is actually a total liar with some very costly secrets! Desperate to get as far away from Ian as possible Grace hitches a ride with groomsmen and NHL team owner Jamie Dupree who is heading back home to the picturesque small town of Calamity, Wyoming.

As a pastry chef by trade Grace is determined to use her baking skills to not only help set up her new life but also help her break free from the shadow of her huge Italian family. However the last thing that Grace could have anticipated was to fall in love with Jamie and his cute six year old daughter Kinsley. The question now is will Jamie allow his past demons to stand in the way of the budding relationship that has been forming with Grace?

“Honestly, he hadn’t noticed the darkness he was living in until she turned on the lights. He hadn’t understood the emptiness until she’d filled it.”

I absolutely loved this book, in fact I have been loving this entire series, but I think that it would be safe to say that Truly, Madly, Deeply has been the best one to date! I just loved Grace and Jamie, these two were such a cute couple and getting to see them try to figure out how to make their unusual connection work was very satisfying. There was something very heartfelt, real and relatable about their story that I found myself connecting too.

“If you’re not somewhere where you’re special, then, Grace, you’re in the wrong place.”

Grace was an absolute darling, I loved that she was always so full of life, light and love. Even after having her entire world turned upside down by the man that she thought she would spend the rest of her life with, she did not wallow or mope she just got up and pulled herself together and I for one really liked this about Grace. I really liked that she turned to find comfort in her baking, but also using her patisserie talents to help kick start her new life. One of the things that I really liked about Grace was the fact that she was strong enough to realize that she needed to make changes to her life if she wanted to progress, even if that meant stepping out from behind her families protective embrace. As for Jamie, well there were a few moments that I wanted to just shake some sense into him but for the majority I just wanted to give him a big hug. I think the main issue with Jamie was that he just couldn’t let go of the past and in doing so he continued to punish himself. I loved that Grace called him out on his behavior and helped push him to figure out why he was still carrying this guilt around and in turn confront his fears. Even though when it came to his personal life Jamie was a bit of hot mess, when it came to his relationship with his daughter it was a total different story. I just loved the way he was with Kinsley, these two had such a sweet bond and I would have loved to have seen a bit more of their antics.

“All I have to do is look at you, and the world stops. I can’t think. I can’t breathe. I don’t know what it is, but you get under my skin.”

Both of these two characters were going through emotional upheavals of their own, with all circumstances and reason pushing them apart but there was something about being together that helped both of them heal and I just loved this about their relationship. It was almost liking being together helped them open up and find their true selves. I loved that being together afford them the emotional support and safety that allowed both of them to lower their walls and go after the life that they had both been craving. Add in the fact that they had some crazy hot chemistry and it was hard not to root them on as they figured out their way towards happily ever after, even if it did take them awhile to finally get their acts together.

Truly, Madly, Deeply is a total must read! This book was the perfect mix of cute slow burn romance combined with an angsty emotional journey but also a light hearted feel good note. I can not wait to see what Kelly has instore for us next!
