Without-RestraintWithout Restraint by Angela Knight: Alexis loves her job as a deputy. She’s made great friends on the force and she loves being able to help people. Apart from work, a big part of her life is the regional BDSM scene. She’s found acceptance and she’s looking for another Dom after a bad experience with a previous Dom. Alexis is thrilled to find Frank when a mutual friend plays matchmaker and they immediately hit it off.

Frank is out of the military and looking forward to start his new job. He can’t wait to see Alexis again. They meet again sooner than expected and under surprising circumstances. While Alexis is used to the danger inherent in her job, she’s profoundly affected when another deputy is killed. She turns to Frank to help solve the case, but also to provide a distraction that only he can.

“I wanted to have a…word with you about your performance yesterday.”
“Um…” She took an instinctive step back. “Which performance was that?”
“The one right before your striptease.” He took a step toward her. “Which, of course, I thoroughly enjoyed.”

Their relationship quickly heats up. Frank loves how Alexis challenges him. Alexis is no shrinking violet as she works in a male dominated profession, and she makes him earn her trust and submission.

“Yeah, you want it.”
“Yeah.” Her voice sounded so hoarse, she paused to clear it. “I want it. I want you.”
“Master,” Frank corrected. “I want you, Master. You will call me by my title, sub.”
Alex bared her teeth. “Make me.”

Without Restraint is a sexy, thrilling read and a good start to a new series. Angela Knight created a strong, sexy, intelligent heroine in Alexis and a loyal, protective, and compassionate hero in Frank. Ms. Knight also highlighted biases, perceptions, and social issues that are fairly realistic in society and relevant to the story. Fans of Lisa Renee Jones and Lauren Smith would enjoy Without Restraint.

Book Info:

4S August 4th 2015 | Berkley | Southern Shield #1

The first novel in the explosive new Southern Shield series from New York Times bestselling author Angela Knight explores the intoxicating games between a female cop and a Navy SEAL—and the killer instincts of a secret enemy watching every move they make.

Atlanta deputy Alexis Rogers and Navy SEAL Frank Murphy know all about power and restraint, necessary force, and pushing their limits. When they meet in the darkness of a BDSM club, their skills are put to use. With each successive night comes a new adrenaline rush, and while they’re falling into something perilously close to love, their games are still too private, too extreme, and too daring ever to be exposed.

But their intimate lives are upended when a fellow deputy of Alex’s is killed. It’s not a tragic hazard of the job. It’s cold-blooded murder. And he’s not the last to be taken out. Now Alex and Frank have found themselves more vulnerable than ever—and exposed to a killer with a twisted vendetta who turns desire into the most dangerous sensation of all.
