REVIEW: 24 Hours in Paris by Romi Moondi

24 Hours in Paris by Romi Moondi: When Mira misses her flight, she doesn’t know whether to call it fate or bad luck. With only her super flirty coworker Jake by her side, she has to figure out how to handle the next 24 hours since the next flight isn’t until the next day. After finding a dingy hotel (where she would prefer not to lay on the bed), she goes off to explore and is surprised when Jake wants to join her.

Jake never really had an opportunity to get to know Mira in New York, but he has the chance now. When his prior night hookup is busy until the evening, he decides to tagalong on Mira’s journey in Paris. What he doesn’t expect is to start to like spending time with her.

As the two explore Mira’s bucket list of Paris, they spend majority of their time seeing the sights, trying new carbs, and drinking wine. In addition, they start to open up to each other about everything in their lives. As the 24 hours continue on, they have to decide which paths they want to take and whether they want to continue their adventures or go their separate ways.

Mira is dealing with a broken engagement before heading to Paris, so she throws her all into exploring to keep her mind off it. With a difficult relationship with her family, she feels alone. She finds herself being drawn into Paris and also Jake. As she questions what her path holds after Paris, she has to decide what she wants to do.

Jake has always been a flirt and Mira makes him question everything. After spending a few short hours with her, he finds that he doesn’t necessarily want to run off with his hookup later. But he doesn’t know how to say that to Mira. As he learns to navigate his feelings for her, he learns how to open up to her even more surprising even himself.

Honestly, I need an epilogue. I need just a glimpse of the future. Whether that is them not seeing each other for awhile or Mira moving to LA. Something. I felt like it was lacking there whereas it added a lot of unnecessary plot to some of the chapters. That being said, I did like that each chapter was a separate hour. It made the book flow very nicely and helped separate the activities. I just feel like I needed more from the story overall, but it was an easy read.

“Filled with delectable delights and heart-tugging insights . . . Stunning.” – Publishers Weekly, starred review

All bets are off in the City of Light . . . where life and love can change in less than a day

After calling off her engagement, Mira escapes on an all-expense paid business trip to Paris. Despite the delicious food and flowing wine, she can’t forget the ache of leaving her fiancé behind or the fact that she’s just blown up her personal life. And messing up simply isn’t Mira.

She’s used to being in control. Meticulously planning. But now she’s at the mercy of the travel gods, and they are not acting in her favor. Subways are missed. Trains don’t run. Flights are overbooked. And by the time she arrives at the airport to go home, there are no new flights to NYC until the next day. The worst part? She’s now stuck in Paris for twenty-four hours with her arrogant and insufferable co-worker Jake whose constant flirting and annoying optimism is more than she can handle.

But as they spend the next twenty-four hours in Paris, exploring the city in all its beauty, Mira realizes that she and Jake have more in common than they thought, and he may turn out to be the best thing she discovers in the City of Love.
