a-moment-to-cherish-jennifer-fayeA Moment to Cherish by Jennifer Faye: Bella ended her engagement to Mason because of his mayoral candidacy only to find herself pregnant, about to buy a store she can’t afford for her the woman who acted as her mother when her own ran away, and kicked out of the house she was living in.

To have any chance of winning the election, Mason needs Bella by his side. And he needs to win if he doesn’t want his accounting business to fail due to all the people and businesses leaving town.

When circumstances bring them together once more living in the same house, their inability to communicate with one another during their engagement is fixed as their fears, insecurities, and hopes bubble to the surface.

“Mason?” Bella’s voice was soft and warm. Was she listening to the song too? Did she miss the way they used to be?
“Shh…don’t talk. Just listen.”
He wondered if she could hear the music over the pounding of his heart. She lifted her chin and stared into his eyes. She really was the most beautiful woman in the world.

A Moment to Cherish is a sweet and simple read. Mason and Bella are cute together, the whole town believes they’re the perfect couple and I believe it. As they learn to open up to one another and to rebuild the relationship that was disintegrating, I see a couple who truly loved one another and hoped for a better future.

That said, I can’t say I cared for them. They just felt a little too bland for me. Although, where I normally dislike a miscommunication conflict, there’s felt more real. They didn’t know how to discuss their issues with each other, and this is the story of their rebuilding. It’s a second chances with a more interesting twist.

For those who want a sweet, small-town read I recommend A Moment to Cherish. It feels like a real relationship, well-developed, with a crew of characters who always back one another up. The fourth in a series, it can be read as a standalone. But the other couples from what I saw in the story definitely looked cute so you might want to try them out as well!
