In A Pawn in the Playboy’s Game by Cathy Williams, Alessandro Falcone is notorious for winning—in every pursuit. Being forced back to Scotland on business is an inconvenience for the billionaire bachelor, but he’ll get in, get what he wants and get out—until the delectable Laura Reid becomes a welcome distraction on the long, cold Highland nights…
Laura may be the opposite of the glossy women Alessandro usually favors, but her voluptuous figure and sweetness have an allure that make her even more of a challenge.
And in the game of seduction—this playboy always wins!
This was a well written romance with a predictable but enjoyable story line. Alessandro is a playboy hero who gets what he wants and he wants Laura at any cost. He was a charming hero who had a way with words and I loved his dialogues. I loved that there was so much in him than just his playboy persona. Laura is a local school teacher who knows getting involved with Alessandro would be a mistake. She does not want to repeat the same mistake she did in her past but somehow she is unable to resist him. The romance is enjoyable because the characters share an awesome chemistry.I just felt that there were many unnecessary things in the book which dragged the story. The slow pacing kind of ruined the mood at times but overall it was enjoyable.
