In Burned by Sarah Morgan (Miller Sisters #2) by Sarah Morgan, Rosie Miller’s craptastic day just got even worse. Not only is she staring down a breakup with her current boyfriend, but the first love of her life, Hunter Black, is the new owner of the London fitness center she works for. Awkwardness ensues, as well as a whole lot of chemistry, leaving Rosie (aka Ninja to Hunter) Burnedin a daze trying to figure out how to make it through her workday without running into him.

‘I’d built a life I loved, my sister was my family and we had a great bunch of friends. True, my sex life was mostly battery operated but a girl couldn’t have everything.’

But neither Rosie nor Hunter can ignore the sparks still between them. One kiss and they’re on the edge of losing complete control. She’s been down that road with him before, and while the sex was wonderful, she’s never really gotten over their break up. Can Rosie possibly enter into a strictly physical relationship with Hunter without her heart getting involved?

“Is this what you want?” His voice was thickened, his eyes darker than usual and I was so hypnotized by what I saw in those eyes I could hardly breathe, let alone speak.
“Yes. But just sex, nothing else. I’m over you.”
His eyes were dark as flint, hooded, slumberous. “Right now you’re under me, Ninja, which gives me the advantage.”

Burned is the second smokin’ hot novella about the Miller Sisters from Sarah Morgan, who does a terrific job creating fun & flirty characters with a brain.

Rosie and Hunter’s chemistry was every bit as explosive as Hayley and Nico’s from book one. Plus we get to read about one of my favorite tropes here: second chance romance. After devouring Hayley’s novella, Ripped, I was curious about her sister the trainer/martial arts teacher as they are so different. Their relationship is comical, sweet, and I loved how they always have each other’s back, no matter what.

Although this is a short story, Ms. Morgan did quite well bringing in just enough background on our couple to make it easy to follow them now. And there was such an intensity to their connection that it made their love scenes incredibly wild and passionate…which was so much fun to read. Now, their path to a HEA was definitely not an easy one for either of them, but I enjoyed the ending immensely.

If you’re looking for quick & steamy romance, give Burned a try. You can’t go wrong with a Cosmo Red Hot Read!
