chasing-crazy-kelly-siskindChasing Crazy by Kelly Siskind: After dropping out of school in an effort to restart her life of embarrassment, Nina (aka Pininfarina) hops a flight to New Zealand only to meet the hottest guy she’s ever seen and make a fool or herself several times over in front of him. But Sam’s escaping his own troubles in a backpacking excursion throughout New Zealand and he can’t help but be drawn to the shy, awkward, and hilarious Nina.
After an accident that changed his life forever, Sam wants Nina but he’s scared to show her what happened and so he lies. As they travel together, he falls for her more and more, until he can’t do anything but give her the truth and finally let someone in to accept him.
Nina wants Sam, all of Sam. But she has her own fears from her past that keep getting in between them. As they travel, they find their strength to face life head on, but is it enough for a future together?

A deep chuckle moves through his chest, and the sound travels up my spine. “Excellent point, Canada. So we’re a fucked-up guy and a disaster magnet girl ready to take on a country with more sheep than people.” He nods decisively. “Yeah, we got this.”

I absolutely loved Chasing Crazy. It’s hot. They’re hot. Sam is wonderful, the jock gone sweet and endearing. And Nina is an absolute doll with crazy sex fantasies. She’s crazy, her family’s crazy, and I totally want to know this girl. They’re a perfect match as they chase their crazy perfect love.
Sam’s lie about having a girlfriend nearly goes on too long, but thankfully it ends soon enough to give us plenty of time with them as a couple. With both their issues, I rooted for their happiness. Nina to find someone sweet and accepting of her continual case of embarrassments (which you wouldn’t think would be a big deal, but totally and realistically is for her) and Sam for the injuries he was once rejected for. But they get each other 100% and know how to talk (or kiss) the other down. And the amount of eye-lusting and “innocent” touching amps up the sexual tension way way high.
Aside from Nina and Sam, I loved Leigh. At first she’s awful, but she becomes a kickass character I totally want to see more of. There was a decent touch of travel, which I liked, and it definitely had the attitude of traveling young adults. For any NA reader I highly recommend Siskind’s Chasing Crazy, I couldn’t put it down. It’s insanely endearing and hilarious.

Dear Mom & Dad, I dropped out of school. I’m going backpacking. Sorry. Love you both.

At nineteen, Nina has endured two lifetime’s worth of humiliation. Tired of waiting for it to get better, she decides to get going—across the globe to New Zealand. There she soon faces what she most fears: a super sexy guy ready to be Nina’s next mistake.

Once Sam’s life was all about having fun. That was before the accident. Now his friends have bailed and his world is broken. But when a gorgeous girl on his flight looks at him with passion instead of pity, Sam feels his old self coming back to life.

Now traveling together, Nina and Sam know this isn’t just a fling. They’re falling fast, hard, and deep. More than anything, Sam wants Nina to forget her fears. But to help her do that he must reveal his own painful secret—and risk Nina never seeing him the same way again.
