Coming Apart at the Seams by Jenna Sutton: Nick is a star football player who is ready Coming-Apart-at-the-Seamsto retire. When his best friend offers him a job to get the museum up and running for the family company, Nick sees this a golden opportunity. He can do something he loves and finally try to make things right with his best friend’s sister, Teagan.

Nick knows that he royally screwed things up with Teagan and he has been trying for the last few years to apologize, explain, and beg for another chance. Teagan is having none of it. She’s made it her mission to avoid Nick at all costs since he broke her heart and let her down when she needed him. Teagan is less than thrilled to have Nick not only working for her family’s company, but that he will be reporting directly to her.

He dropped his hand, revealing a bright red mark where she shad truck him. The sight of it gave her perverse pleasure that she’d hurt him, although it wasn’t nearly as much as he’d hurt her. “I told you to leave me alone. I told you not to touch me. And now I’m going to tell you again: stay away from me, Nick.”

Nick can’t forget what it was like when they were best friends and how he always felt better when they were together. When his first plan of attack seems to only drive her further away, he changes tactics to remind Teagan of how close they were and how he feels. Since he hurt her so badly before, Teagan doesn’t trust Nick or his intentions now.

“The houses we’ve looked at aren’t right for you. They’re for families.”
“And?”
“You don’t have a family.”
“Not yet.”
“What?” she asked, clearly perplexed by his answer.
“I don’t have a family yet.”

Coming Apart at the Seams brings together the past and present in this delightful second chance romance. Jenna Sutton provides an endearing hero in Nick whose life looks perfect from the outside. Ms. Sutton showcases the strong bonds of friends and family with an interesting cast of secondary characters. Coming Apart at the Seams can be read as a standalone book in this series. Fans of Kimberly Lane and Kelly Moran will enjoy Coming Apart at the Seams.

I love second chance romances, and this one sounds really good. I might have to get the first one in the series as well. Nice review, Kim.
