REVIEW: Healing Her Brooding Island Hero by Marion Lennox

Healing Her Brooding Island Hero by Marion Lennox is a delightful medical romance set on a nature reserve, Sandpiper Island which is full of equally delightful characters and creatures.

Hubert the Wombat is an unlikely hero but thanks to him standing in the middle of the dark, remote road, Hugh and Gina meet and an adventurous, delightful and heart-warming story ensues. Due to the worldwide pandemic Gina’s off the ships where she’s a nurse practitioner and staying with her elderly, crazy and grumpy Aunt Babs. Dr Hugh Duncan has moved to the Island to get far away from the world that injured him and the other handsome hero in this story, Hoppy the Fox Terrier.

Doing a bit of research on this new to me author, I see how Marion Lennox has captured this Island community so beautifully. I laughed and cried. I wanted to be part of the community myself. The detail that has gone into the story of the Island, the people, the emergencies and all the creatures was so, so enjoyable. Mixed with Hugh and Gina’s love story I absolutely adored this story. Concluding with an Epilogue that felt like a great big warm hug, I was happily sad to reach the end.

So well enjoyed, thank you Marion Lennox, I will be looking to read more stories of yours.

Doctor Hugh Duncan might be determined to hide behind his scars on Sandpiper Island, but his new neighbour, nurse practitioner Gina, is having none of it. He’s a doctor, and she needs his help to take care of the islanders. But Gina also understands how life-changing tragedy can be, and she wants to help mend this gorgeous hero’s heart—even if that means losing her own to him in the process!
